Migrating VMs with greater than 8TB disk

Brass Contributor

Hello All,

I wanted to see if anyone had experience with migrating VMs to Azure with data disks that are greater than 8TB in size.  How did you handle it?  can we use databox for something like that?  This would be from a VMware environment on prem to Azure.

Thanks

@John Wildes You can use Azure Data box disk for data transfer. That maximum limit is 35 TB. You will receive the disk from courier service, after you copy the data send it back to the DC. The data in the disk are encrypted, only using your subscription you can unlock them.

Transfer data with AzCopy and file storage
AzCopy is a command-line utility that you can use to copy blobs or files to or from a storage account. This article contains example commands that work with Azure Files.
