Hi there,
I want to display automatically created search suggestions in the global search field. But I am facing the following issues in SharePoint 2016, on premises:
- Global search only shows suggestions on search result pages in the global search field as well in the search box webpart
- But unfortunately the Global Search Field does not show any suggestions on the root site and any other sites/pages
- But it doesnt show suggestions in the global search field on any other pages.
- Is it possible to to display those automatically created suggestions in the global search field on all other pages as well? (without uploading a data sheet with suggestions)
- What is the standard behavior/definition of search suggestions? Why are the automatically created suggestions displayed on search result pages but not on the other pages?
