Teams is always open, yet minimized on my desktop. When someone sends me a chat message the window opens. After a while, it too minimizes. Is there a way to set the software so that the chat window stays open until I minimize it myself?

You can change this from the default 5 seconds to up to 5 minutes:

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to have the pop up remain open until I close it?

I did a google search using the title of the article you sent and found a way to go to regedit - control panel - accessibility - messageduration Change the duration to the decimal metric and then put in the number of seconds you want. I have know idea if it works but we'll see!
Thanks!

Just to let you know - I made the change to the regedit file and it works just fine! The Teams pop up notification stays on my desktop!
