Microsoft Teams Common Area Phone - sign in options
We have about 100 CAP phones in a Skype on-prem environment that we're looking to migrate to Teams. Our current 3pip phones are not CAP-compatible so we either have to upgrade to Teams-native phones or convert these to a regular user. However, in both of these scenarios, the log-in process seems tedious. For Teams-native, it seems that you have to be at the device to log in. Our 3pip phones have a web login option but that requires maintaining 100 shared usernames/pws. In Skype Online, there was a way to register a CAP phone with a code and admin credentials. However, it seems this option is no longer available. Is that correct? How are others handling phones that are used in a common area that aren't tied to a specific user?
Thanks!
Hi WisMoto
The Common Area Phones in Microsoft Teams are again associated with the Common Area License which provides you with the Login Interface on the Microsoft Teams Native Device or on the 3PIP Phones.
Can you let you me know which model of 3PIP Phones you are using currently so that I can help you if they would be compatible with Microsoft Teams?
