  • Take this:

    1. Adjust Permissions – If other users have permission to delete files, you can modify their access level. In SharePoint, create a custom permission level that removes the ability to delete items. In OneDrive, you can manage access settings to restrict deletion.
    2. Enable Retention Policies – If files have been deleting for a long time, consider setting up retention policies to prevent future deletions and ensure files are kept for a specific period.
    3. Recover Deleted Files – If files have already been deleted, check the Recycle Bin in SharePoint or OneDrive. If they are no longer there, you may need to restore them using PowerShell commands or administrative tools.

Thanks, but this is not what I am looking for. I need to stop the process that is ongoing at the moment

  • Pause OneDrive sync or unlink the device to stop the deletion. Then restore the folder from the Recycle Bin. If it continues, contact Microsoft Support.
