Inbox / Private messages broken on my profile
Hi,
I'm trying to get informations regarding a case I opened 2 months ago and they are sent through private messages I can't open.
I see that I have 97 unread messages but when I click on the icon, it just open the Inbox, try to load something for a while then just give up, leaving me there.
Before someone tries to tell me that this is a cookie or cache issue, it is happening on several browsers, using normal or InPrivate session and on multiple computers so the problem is not there.
After searching, it seems that I'm not the only one having this issue.
Could someone have a look at it so I can reply to the people from Microsoft asking me informations in PM and not forcing me to ping them on LinkedIn?

Hi chrisbutler,
Thanks for posting, as per other replies on this thread a fix is coming, there is a workaround I can apply to your mailbox but be aware you may lose every message in your inbox in the process.
Let me know if you want me to apply the work around or if your happy to wait for the fix.

Roshan6422 Thanks for posting, as with other replies on this thread - a fix is coming but if you don't mind losing the messages (potentially all of them) in your inbox I can apply a workaround to your profile.
If you would rather wait for the fix, I am hoping it won't be long now!

please try again, a fix was released in the most recent build which should fix this for most users - there is one other bug we are tracking which we hope to have fixed soon.
Hi Allen - How is it going on bug#2? I'm still unable to access messages. I'd be happy to volunteer as QA for the next fix :-D

I'm having this issue too. I marked all messages "read" but still can't access Inbox.
It appears to be working, mostly!
BUT-- it takes FOREVER to load. If people are expecting it to work, they will assume it is still broken because it easily takes a full minute to load anything on the page. I expect people are likely to get timeout errors in some situations because of how long it takes.
But if you can wait, it does seem to show the inbox again. And I replied to a message I was sent a very long time ago, and they did get the reply in their inbox. So the needle has moved, and that's good.- Allen

You are correct, I didn't tell you all was well yet because they are still working on why its taking so long to load and also why the sent box will frequently not load.
I probably should have said 'hey... its fixed.. kinda' but I will let you know once behaviour is more 'normal'

Yeah its probably those announcements that caused the initial problem and are continuing to slow the load time. We are still working with the platform vendor for a longer term fix for that.
If you delete the ones with the announcement microphone it should speed up.
I posted about this about a year ago. I used to have a lot of existing discussions going back to mid-pandemic. And they're all gone. Also, I can no longer send or receive messages. It's utterly broken. It looks like MS doesn't intend to fix it. This whole platform feels neglected and unmaintained.

This is impacting me quite a bit right now. Do you know an approximate ETA for the next release?
I'm experiencing the same issue and tested on Firefox on Windows and on an iPad (normal and incognito) as well as on a fresh installation of Edge on a separate Windows machine. My screen looks identical to yours with the icon saying I can choose a message but no message list appears to pick from.Allen please respond.

Thank you for your report, we have had a handful of similar reports sent to us via email. The good news is engineering have developed a fix for it and it will be fixed in the next release.
We will of course update this thread once its fixed, unfortunately there is no workaround at the moment and so please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.Thanks Allen
