The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust..
We have a single Site single Domain (xyz.com) which contain following 3 Domain Controllers: 1- DC1 (PDC, windows server 2012 R2, a hyper-v virtual server) 2- DC2 (Secondary DC, windows server Ent 2008 sp2, physical server) 3- DC3 (Secondary DC, windows server Ent 2008 sp2, a vmware virtual server) Problem: The error message "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship" is coming while end users attempting to change their password who are controlled by a domain password policy. Action Taken: 1 When i chech the computer account, i found following result: C:\Windows\system32> NETDOM VERIFY computer_name The secure channel from computer_name to the domain XYZ has been verified. The connection is with the machine \\DC3.xyz.com 2 Then i do force to RESET the secure channel to DC1: C:\Windows\system32> NETDOM RESET computer_name /domain:xyz /server:DC1 3 After restart the computer, user able to change without any error message!!! Now My Question is: Why the error message "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship" appear while those computer's secure channel is connected to DC2/DC3 only? Why those client computer's Secure Channel is automatically registered to either DC2 or DC3?Mohammed UllahJul 24, 2017Brass Contributor1.7MViews2likes19CommentsWindows Server 2019 install product key not working

I have configured GPO to Set time limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions. Policy has been set to disconnect sessions which are idle for more than 3 hours. But I am getting warning after 30 minutes itself. This GPO has been applied at OU level. Issue occurs only with Windows 2019 servers. Session time limits on Windows 2016 servers which are in the same OU works well. I ran gpresult /h on the affected servers. I could see session time limit policy is applied properly still sessions are getting disconnected after 30 minutes. Anyone came across this issue? Hello, Doing some searches on the web, it's not clear if there is an upgrade path from 2012R2 to 2022 Windows Server. From the link, I was wondering if there is an upgraded diagram, or if Microsoft has a recommendation on the path forward for this route? Is this upgrade not supported, and we should opt to then do a clean install? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/upgrade/upgrade-overview Thank youSolvedZach_B635Apr 04, 2022Copper Contributor276KViews1like24CommentsServer Manager problem: Online - Data retrieval failures occurred
Hello, I'm using Windows Server 2022 and I have this problem: data retrieval on Server Manager. Is there a fix for this issue? Obs: - this is a test lab - all servers are domain members - I'm connecting on all servers with the domain Administrator account. - tested with both Firewall on and off - do NOT recommend this workaround: delete/rename the registry keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels\xxx Thank you.SolvedMartinikNov 28, 2021Copper Contributor204KViews2likes91CommentsWindows Server 2019 and .NET 4.8?
Hello, On a fully updated Windows Server 2019, roles and features allow me to install only .NET 4.7. One of the solution we are using require .NET 4.8 (Adaxes). When I install .NET 4.8 using the installer available here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/microsoft-net-framework-4-8-offline-installer-for-windows-9d23f658-3b97-68ab-d013-aa3c3e7495e0 It works, I can install Adaxes, but it break ServerManager as well as Azure AD Connect. What's the correct procedure to install .NET 4.8 on Server 2019 without breaking anything else? I just want to download the full 1903 patch for Windows server 2019 and can't find it anywhere. It keep redirecting to Window 10. I am sure they are based of the same OS, but there should be a way to download it manually or force a server to use it.SolvedCmakar37Jul 03, 2019Copper Contributor191KViews0likes8CommentsCleaning up WinSxS Directory to reduce space Windows Server 2012 R2
Hi I'm trying to reduce the amount of drive space taken up by Windows on my servers C Drive - currently the entire drive is taking up 28GB of a 30GB drive... I've used the disk clean up tool that ships with Windows but it didn't identify anything that could be removed (really!)... The Windows Directory is taking up 17.5GB of the 30GB drive so a big chunk. I've seen that you can reduce the size of the WinSxS directory within Windows which is currently taking up about 8GB, and this director (given it's size) seems a likely candidate for size reduction. I found this tool - but it is not compatible (won't install stating incompatible) - see: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2852386/disk-cleanup-wizard-addon-lets-users-delete-outdated-windows-updates-o Perhaps there's another tool I can use? Alternatively - perhaps there is something else I can do to reduce the data on my drive...? I'm working an a Windows 2012 R2 Server running off an EC2 Instance on AWS. Any help most appreciated? Hi all. I have a Windows Server 2019 VM (HyperV) where I setup my first DC. I also setup DNS and DHCP on the server. After deploying these, the yellow warning icon appeared on the network icon in the bottom right corner, and it says "No internet access". Indeed, Internet access seems to be working normally. The only issue is the DNS sometimes unable to resolve certain random domains. It seems that unbinding IPv6 from the NIC almost solved this issue, but the warning icon and the No Internet message remains. I tried the troubleshooting tool. It is unable to diagnose the issue, and suggests a network reset. I did it twice, but it did not change anything. I took a dump of the network packets when the diagnostic tool is run, but I see nothing unusual. It finally connects to http://www.microsoft.com:80/ which I think is the normal way to determine if Internet is available. The server responds 200 Ok and some codes. I don't know where to look further.
