Modern external network migration, how to sign into new tenant with admin account.
Hi there I'll try and explain this as best I can, I'm getting confused about what to do myself now!!! we managed to get an extension from MS to migrate a Yammer external network site to Viva until 31st August. I am following this guide https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/engage/configure-your-viva-engage-network/modern-external-networks I have used my global admin account e.g. myadmin@existing_tenant.onmicrosoft.com from my current tenant to create a new entra work_force tenant (aaa_vivaengage.onmicrosoft.com) so far so good. I can't seem to figure out how to sign into the NEW TENANTs viva engage page with my admin account to generate the association token, I need to use myadmin@existing_tenant.onmicrosoft.com on engage.cloud.microsoft according to the instructions, when I try and do that I am taken to the engage management interface for my existing tenant and all its current content not the new one I've created (aaa_vivaengage.onmicrosoft.com). Essentially, how do I do this bit: As the Viva Engage Global Administrator, go to engage.cloud.microsoft and sign into Viva Engage on the new Microsoft Entra tenant. I can't see a way of switching engage tenants once signed in or beforehand. I am able to create a new global admin account in the new entra tenant and sign into the associated new engage tenant with that but I can't generate the association token using that account and pair the parent and new tenants as the token needs to be created using the admin account that created the new tenant in the first place (myadmin@existing_tenant.onmicrosoft.com). If I try doing that I get an invalid token error when trying to redeem the code in the parent tenant. Any suggestions much appreciated.SolvedAndy_CambsAug 28, 2025Copper Contributor83Views1like4CommentsInvite guests to Viva Engage Community
I am looking into using Viva Engage but it is a deal breaker for us that guests with non-microsoft accounts cannot be added. It looks like the old Yammer used to allow external users to join? but the new Viva Engage does not? I have read articles about the new B2B guest framework https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/engage/work-with-external-users/collaborate-guests-external-viva-engage-community What I am trying to achieve though is allowing personal accounts, gmail, hotmail, etc Our use case is that we have a company community, but would like to invite a small number of guests into our community prior to them joining our team to give them a feel for how the business operates. I would be happy to assign purchase and assign licenses, but there is no easy way for non Office365 admins to do so. It would also cause friction to ask a new person that is not part of our business to use a new MS email account. Ideally this is how I would see it working Just allow guests to join with personal accounts. Community admins can just type in their email and invite them. We could have a pool of available Viva Engage licences. Community admins can invite a guest via their personal email address and assign an available licence.SolvedTimM1Jan 30, 2025Copper Contributor494Views0likes1CommentHow to download/export usernames in Viva Engage?
Hi, I am trying to find ways to download information who has posted a comment, and other information as shown below. I tried exporting page analytics, but it does not show me the names and also, I need the counts. Who has responded to the discussion? Who has submitted a picture How many likes received on the picture How many comments received on the picture How many likes/loves received on the comments How many responses submitted on a discussion How many likes received on the discussion How many comments received on the response How many likes/loves received on the response Does anyone know how can I get this? Many thanks in advance! Thanks BanashreeSolvedBanashreeJan 28, 2025Copper Contributor236Views1like2CommentsSeeking recommended steps to delete "All Company"
I have a scenario where an existing dated "All Company" community exists in Viva Engage from Yammer days and dating back to 4 or so years ago. The contents of this community (including posts, members, etc) are no longer relevant to the organisation as it has evolved a lot since then. The organisation now wants to adopt Viva Engage as an ESN but with a "fresh start". So they are keen to delete all existing communities, including the All Company one. I would like to understand if there is a best practice way to deleting an "All Company" community in Viva Engage? This help article (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/engage/manage-viva-engage-groups/all-company-community) seems to indicate that the "All Company" community can be treated like any other regular community: "You can delete All Company in Microsoft Entra ID, which takes it through a soft-delete and then a hard-delete process." However, people in this discussion thread - as recent as Oct 2024, have reported having difficulties: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/viva_engage_administration/delete-default-all-company/4186461 The thread indicates that if someone deletes the All Company - the community continues to show as existing for users - leading to an experience where people click on the community only to find it is deleted. I am wondering if there is a recommended way to delete and re-creating the All Company community? For example should we delete the relevant M365 group from Entra? If yes - when we recreate the community - do we do it from Engage and then go to Entra to set some additional properties to indicate it is the new "All Company"?SolvedParulDec 04, 2024Copper Contributor1.4KViews4likes1CommentViva Engage: Where can I see who consented to usage policy?
I need a list of users who consented to the usage policy. I don't see such option in VE Admin Center. I am looking for a Graph API, Powershell cmdlet, hidden website/hidden list, anything... Any suggestions?SolvedAccount_No_1001Nov 07, 2024Brass Contributor200Views1like7CommentsBlock topic creation for members

The status of the Alignment Tool has been "In Progress" since June for one of my tenants. I have no idea why - we have no data of value in the original Yammer, but now we are considering trying out Viva Engage and can't seem to create *any* external communities and I suspect it has to do with being stuck in this state. I've reached out to technical support, provided detailed descriptions, screen shots, videos of what we're doing, and the error results, as well as Fiddler traces etc. The "Upgrade" reports are all visible, and mostly empty. Can anyone suggest what we could be doing to get this alignment tool "unstuck"? At this point we're willing to wipe the entire thing clean and start from scratch. Thanks!SolvedTLCAdminSep 06, 2024Brass Contributor519Views0likes5Comments
