the keyboard does not appear
Hello, On my Surface GO 2 with Windows 11, the keyboard doesn't appear when I use my stylus, but it does when I use my finger. For example I open the notepad if I point in the text area with my stylus nothing happens if I use my finger the keyboard appears. I've tested my stylus on another surface and it works fine. I think that my surface thinks that a keyboard is connected (but this is not the case) because if in Settings-->Time and language--> Input--> Touch keyboard : in display touch keyboard I put "When no keyboard is attached" there it is not displayed at all even with my finger I have to put here "always" (and there is no choice of always in stylus management just never or when no physical keyboard is attached") In device manager in keyboard there is Standard keyboard PS/2 which always comes back even if I uninstall it. thank you in advanceMboualiJul 25, 2023Copper Contributor2.8KViews0likes7CommentsSurface Go NFC
The surface go has an NFC device in it apparently but info on this thing is incredibly sparse! I have no clue about it at all.. Does anyone have any information on this aspect of the device at all? Microsoft's product pages have hardly even mention it, and searching the internet is not producing any official information. This is potentially very useful for business so what the heck Microsoft, why is it not front and center??Myles GallagherMay 30, 2019Brass Contributor3.5KViews1like3CommentsSurface Pro 7 & 8 Suddenly Not Loading Certain Websites and Apps
I moved to a new house and have all the same routers and services. After being here almost 2 weeks, both my Surface Pro 7 & Surface Pro 8 suddenly quit loading certain websites and apps. First noticed Twitter, then Amazon, speed test sites, etc on my Pro 8. Any app that requires internet access won't load. The device always shows that the device is connected to the internet. My email, calendar and some other sites load fine. I went through every diagnostic with a MS agent online and he finally gave up and considered it a hardware issue. The device was under warranty and so I shipped it in for service. I have a Pro 7 also, so I just began to use it. It was fine for about a day, then the same thing started happening. We have changed DNS services, gone through Surface Diagnostic Tool, updated, etc. Every other device in the house is working fine but the Surface devices. I finally got the idea to tether to my phone...and everything works!! So, if I get off of the internet in the house (which it has worked flawlessly with for 2 1/2 yrs) and tether to an outside source, it works fine. It has to be something peculiar to Surface devices. Anyone have any ideas?Scomom55Nov 30, 2024Copper Contributor304Views1like3CommentsWelcome to the Surface 3 Community!

Hi - I've just bought a 128GB/8MB Surface Go 2 and to expand ports etc I've bought one of these hubs: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07M6R3CPB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I do get a message stating this device may need more power but the USB/SD ports work fine. My issue is the HDMI port does not appear to work. Is this because of a power issue with the hub or have I just bought an incompatible device? Any help is greatly appreciated. Kind regards,CitronaxOct 03, 2020Copper Contributor4.4KViews0likes3Commentssurface pro 7+ slots

Hi Everyone, I have a surface tablet that I tried resetting and now it’s stuck on a loop on the Surface logo and a blue screen that says that it’s installing windows at 64%. I’ve already tried accessing the BIOS of the machine but it only allows me to select Device information and Exit setup. I already have windows ready to install from a usb but the option to allow me to do so, is grayed out. If anyone has had this issue please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you all for your time!Humberto BenavidesNov 11, 2018Copper Contributor1.3KViews0likes2Comments3840 x 2160 on monitor with Surface 3 and dock
Hi I have a new HP 4k printer, and am trying to connect it in 4k (3840x2160) mode to my Microsoft Surface 3 docking station. I have previously connected the Surface and dock to an Iiyama monitor, and seen it running successfully in full 3840x2160 mode, so I know the laptop can support it. I have downloaded and installed the latest HP driver for the monitor, but from reviewing display settings the highest resolution available is 2640x1440 (at 60Hz). From discussions on the online HP community, specifically mentioning the capacity of the version of displayport on my surface 3 (I believe v1.1) I have a suspicion that I may need to get into 30Hz mode to be able to get full 3840x2160 resolution. As I am more interested in display of information than fast video I believe this would be worth trying. The problem I have is that the only visible options available via the video driver for the monitor are for 60Hz – there are no options visible to allow me to drop down into 30Hz mode, and thereby make use of a higher resolution than is apparently available at 60Hz. I have posed the question on the HP community asking whether a generic 4k video driver might support 30Hz in 3840x2160 mode, but so far no-one has answered. Any ideas?David_McilroyOct 23, 2020Copper Contributor1KViews0likes2CommentsSurface certifications
Are there any certifications specific to the Surface line of devices? I am in the midst of a firm wide hardware upgrade and I am becoming very familiar with the Laptop 2 and Pro 6. I figure I might as well grab a certification while I am doing all of these upgrades. I did something similar when we did a firm wide upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.SolveddutseyAug 18, 2019Copper Contributor916Views0likes1Comment
