I have set up Teams Telephonie with Auto Attendant. I have added Authorized Users. I have setup a Voice application policy, allowed the necessary functions and assigned it to the authorized users. Those Authorized Users are now able to set the greetings messages of the Auto Attendant through the Teams App (Configuration, Calls). However, there seems no way to allow the autorized users to change vacation times and vacation greeting messages. Where can authorized users do this?55Views0likes2CommentsTeams app window keeps jumping back to main Window
I'm using three monitors, on one monitor I usually have the Teams app window. That monitor is not my main display. I can move the Teams app windows to any of my three monitors and it stays there but as soon as I switch focus to the Teams app windows it pops back to my main display. Very annoying. Anyone experienced this behavior?Solved23KViews12likes16CommentsPersistent Bluetooth Headset Issues in Microsoft Teams
Many users, including myself, have encountered persistent issues using Bluetooth headsets with Microsoft Teams, particularly in the desktop app. Common problems include: Audio Output Problems: Low audio quality or no audio at all. Microphone Issues: The microphone does not function consistently or at all. Connection Drops: Devices disconnect unexpectedly during or after breakout sessions. Specific Trigger Points: These issues are often limited to Teams and do not occur in other applications. Notable Observations: Disabling the "Handsfree Telephony" service on the headset in Windows resolves many of these problems but renders the headset as a simple audio output device, necessitating an external microphone. The issues seem prevalent across various brands (e.g., Jabra, Poly Voyager, Sony, Bose) These issues are frustrating, especially since they are less frequent in other apps like Zoom or on the Teams web app. It seems related to how Teams interacts with Bluetooth profiles (A2DP vs. HFP) and prioritizes them during meetings. Action for the Community: To help Microsoft prioritize this issue, I’ve submitted detailed feedback on the Microsoft Teams Feedback Portal. If you’re experiencing similar problems, I encourage you to upvote and comment on the feedback to bring more visibility to this matter. We use Teams at my organization. It started off great, especially with the GIF integration. Well, let me clarify that. Once I turned off ALL the notifications, it was good. Literally all. 100% of notifications that could be turned off. 10/10 turned off. All of them. Well now there are a bunch of notifications with no controls to turn off, and it's driving me nuts. I spend more time in teams clearing notifications that I don't want, don't need, and no one should have programmed to begin with, than I do chatting. I spent like 30 minutes typing this up, sourcing it, etc. That's how much catharsis I needed for the rage of this stupidity. By my count, there are 4(!!!!!) different notification bars within the application, and then random full screen notification about random stuff, and still other ways to notify me of things I don't need to be notified about. I just cleared a double tap notification (back-to-back) about a new feature that wasn't even new! Stop. The. Notifications. I don't care. I'm busy doing stuff and you are derailing my train of thought. I don't care what your justification is for the notifications. Stop. You are raping my attention span. Notifications: 1. Full width top bar, usually white text on a black background. 2. Conversation/chat-width top bar, usually white text on a black background 3.Conversation/chat-width bottom bar, tells about out of office messages in a group chat. White text on a black background. You have to clear this notification every time you come back to the chat. Our chat usually has someone out of the office, so this one is especially annoying. 4. In-meeting notification about call controls. Ever. Single. Call. I don't care. We have multiple call programs here, stop telling me about it. You're taking up 5-15% of the screen real estate for something I've known about for a year. 5. Pop up notifications with an arrow pointing out new features 6. Full screen or large window-sized popups that dim the whole program. 7. Random post-meeting solicitation about feedback. No. Have a specific button somewhere to report feedback for a meeting/call. Not a notification. "So that’s what days were like. A bunch of tiny frustrations, and a bunch of tiny successes. But theyadded up. Even something which seems like a tiny, inconsequential frustration affects your mood. Your emotions don’t seem to care about the magnitude of the event, only the quality. And I started to learn that the days when I was happiest were the days with lots of small successes and few small frustrations." They are a distraction. So how to design your notification so that it becomes purposeful and useful?" https://uxplanet.org/how-to-design-notifications-for-better-ux-6fb0711be54d emphasis mine I came up with a joke recently, sparked by my use of Teams. It goes like this: "How do you know if software was made by a millenial? Don't worry, it will notify you!" I'm a millenial, and this joke is based on a similar one about vegans. I don't want your notifications. Turn them off, or let me turn them off.8.3KViews2likes6CommentsChat window opens on top of meeting window when clicking on Teams icon in dock (MacOS)
When I'm on a Teams video call and I'm working on another app, if I click the Teams icon in the MacOS dock, it brings up the Teams chat window on top of the Teams video call window. So I have to minimise the chat window to see the video window. This is because there is a separate window for chats as for a video meeting (and yes I have checked my settings and I have selected that new chats and incoming notifications are opened in the main window, not a new separate window) I can't even resize the chat window so that even if it's on top it's small because of this window resizing bug. That would have been a nice workaround.1.2KViews7likes4CommentsTeams Room Device Whiteboard Storage
Hello All, I have a NeatBoard that will not save my Whiteboards. It gives the notification that the whiteboard cannot be saved. This is assigned an E5 user account with the Teams Room Pro license. I saw an article that mentioned, Files created by commercial account users are saved in OneDrive (work or school), except in the following scenario: A board was initiated on a Surface Hub or a Microsoft Teams Room device. If this is the case, can whiteboards started from these devices not be saved? Thank you!23Views0likes0CommentsTeams Feedback for Meeting Recordings
Good Morning, Unfortunately, GCC Tenant users still can't post feedback through the feedback portal, so I am using this forum to post a suggestion for an improvement to teams. One gap I see is related to Teams recording notification, that I think is probably a universal challenge for most government Departments and Agencies and other sectors as well. Please see the suggestion below. Can you please add a feature to Teams that verbally tells users who join a Teams meeting via Teams or via the phone that "The meeting is being recorded," which will help with the blind attendees who can't see meeting recording icon or for the attendees that miss the icon all together. Additionally, since some people who are unfamiliar with Teams miss the meeting recording icon in the top right-hand corner and for the deaf attendees if there is an onscreen pop-up that says "Meeting is being recorded," which they would need to click "Ok" to affirm that they are okay with joining the meeting that is being recorded. Additionally, I suggest that when the meeting recording feature is turned on when you are in a meeting you have the option of doing an onscreen modal prompt that hides a majority of what is displayed until the click on the "Ok" button similar to when joining above. Just like when they join a meeting, I would also suggest that Teams does a verbal prompt telling the attendee, "Meeting is being recorded" for the attendees who are already in a meeting as well. If they do add this feature to the meeting then I would recommend that they could still centrally manage it through the Admin console to have it automatically be turned on for the whole domain, be self-managed by the organizer or have an option to have it disabled be default if that is what the admin elects to do. Thanks in advance for your consideration, Jim14Views0likes0CommentsHow to Improve Security in Teams to Prevent Unauthorized Recordings and Anonymous Access?
Hello, We’ve faced multiple incidents in Microsoft Teams sessions where unauthorized AI recording apps were activated, and anonymous users joined. We’ve tried using Lobby Mode, restricting recording permissions, and blocking third-party apps via App Permission Policies. However, these measures have limitations, such as requiring constant monitoring of the lobby and users returning after leaving. Are there additional features, configurations, or third-party tools within or beyond Microsoft Teams (e.g., Teams Premium) that can provide robust security to: Automatically block unauthorized apps during sessions? Prevent reentry of removed participants? Enhance privacy while minimizing the burden on presenters? If Teams cannot address these, what alternative platforms offer better security for large 1-to-many sessions? Thank you!64Views1like0Comments
