Set Default Language for all users
How can we set the default language for video transcripts for all users? We want to provide the ability for people to record meetings in Teams and get a transcript with the least amount of effort. Currently, each user needs to set the default language in Stream so that they can get a transcript made for their recorded meeting. This is far from optimal
Ways to generate transcripts for videos over 4GB
Hi MS Community; Streams for sharepoint won't generate transcripts for videos over 4 gigs. We're required to have transcripts for all videos for accessibility since we're a school. Is there an alternative to generate transcripts that the team can use? We don't have the time or resources to manually generate a transcript. Teams meeting transcripts are enormously helpful and are used by many features, including Copilot for Microsoft 365. Access to transcript files needs good control because of the possibility of confidential information being captured in transcripts. auto generated transcripts stop at just before 30 minutes
Autogeneration of Transcripts stopped to just under 30 minutes starting on Monday. Normally, if a transcript didn't autogenerate, I can edit the video settings and click Generate transcription but that option isn't there after the autogeneration of transcripts has started. I am unable to locate any documentation that states there is a cap on the number or hours of autogenerated transcripts. We have been uploading at least 5-7 2-hour Zoom recording sessions per week since January. These videos range from 160 to 260KB.
Generate transcript with speaker name in Microsoft streams
Hi , I tried to generate transcript for video on Microsoft Stream. All looks good except that it is not showing the speaker's name. When I downloaded the .vtt file, I saw there is time corresponding to each chat. Is there any way by which I can get the speaker name as well with each chat ? One more question I have is what does GUID corresponds to in .vtt file ? Any kind help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Mehak
Uploaded subtitles not updating when replaced on Stream
I am trying to replace a subtitle VTT file on a video on stream due to some typos. However, after I replace the VTT file by removing the previous subtitles and uploading the updated VTT file(update video details>subtitles>edit), the new subtitles are not updated on the video when refreshed. Why are the updated subtitles not reflecting on Stream after replacing them?
Stream no transcribe
I have a meeting recorded and went on youtube to see how to transcibe it but the videos on stream has no transcribe button. It only has comments, help, and video settings. I went to video settings and no luck on turning on transcrib. Please help. It looked simple but turns out WhatYouSeeIsNotWhatYouGet. Dont know if am having the wrong 365 or what ?
Transcript Skipping Post-Editing
Has anyone had issues with transcripts skipping and not running smoothly post-editing? I've been doing the editing in the .vtt file, and whenever I upload the file, the transcription does not run smoothly. The only edits that have been made to the file are to the narration, not the encoding. Thanks!
Is there an alternate way to download transcriptions?
I have a user that created a transcription during a 4 hour long Team meeting but now receives an error when trying to download it. 1. In Microsoft Teams, clicked Calendar 2. Clicked on the meeting invite 3. Clicked Transcript 4. Clicked Download > Download as .docx (also tried .vtt) 5. Get this error: This issue occurs both for her and the meeting owner. It also occurs whether they use the desktop app or the web version of Teams. This has been occurring for several days for this particular meeting. I have read that transcripts are stored in the user's Exchange Online account; is it possible to retrieve it from there? Or from Teams Admin, or using Powershell, ShareGate, or by any other method?
