Sometimes I am in a meeting where one of the persons in the meeting is actually near me in the world outside the screen. In this case the sound is a bit maddening since there is a small delay between the sound from the person and the sound through the teams interface. In these cases, I would like to mute the person only for me since I am sitting near and can hear the person fine without headphones. Right now I need to takeoff headphones when the person is talking and putting it back as the person finishes talking.124KViews180likes146CommentsBreakout Rooms for Microsoft Teams
Is Microsoft planning on creating breakout rooms for Teams meetings? If so when? I noticed a post in uservoice and it says it is planned but no timeline and I don't see it on the M365 Roadmap, so checking here. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/35000044-introduce-breakout-room-functionalitySolved284KViews58likes91CommentsShow more than 4 people on Teams video
Hi, Looking back through previous forum posts, it looks like there have been plans to expand the max number of windows shown in calls from 2x2 to 3x3, so you would be able to see 9 people on video at a time rather than 4. Has there been any progress on this? You're probably aware that a huge number of people are now working from home, so this would be a very useful feature to have at the moment! I have a hard time believing I'm the first person to post this after not finding anything in the forum. I wouldn't doubt if Microsoft is deleting them because they can't figure out how to fix this issue. I can Google this issue and come up with numerous results but NOTHING has been able to fix this issue except for completely removing Teams all together, which unfortunately is not an option for me. Teams is murdering my MacBook Pro 16" i9 with 16GB RAM every day. This was supposed to be the most kick-a$$ laptop at the time but Microsoft is slowly killing it with Teams. It causes serious lags and randomly decides when it wants to share the screen successfully. Other times, it just shows screen but no audio or vice versa. It's infuriating and I've lost my patience! For context, I just re-installed my entire OS thinking it was an OS issue. I erased the entire drive and started from scratch. I did not do any kind of restore from backup. Everything was a fresh install yesterday. I joined a teams meeting today in front of 100 people and Teams seemed to be running fine until I went to share screen and then everything choked. Those who were showing video on the call started flickering rapidly, which could have caused an epileptic seizure - it's that bad and I'm not joking, this isn't funny. IT'S VERY IRRITATING! My entire system. Mail, Calendar, Finder, and Preview (all Apple Apps, which should run super fast) started running like garbage with lags between 5 and 10 seconds - that's no joke. Upon reboot, it was normal again until I ran Teams for another meeting... reboot. I firmly believe Teams is a virus and the developers should be fired for ignoring this issue. I've been dealing with this issue for nearly a year. Teams always causes some kind of lag issue whenever I run it. I have to reboot my machine to get my computer to work somewhat normal again. This is ridiculous! I found an MS article mentioning how Teams uses memory because of this Chromium feature due to easier development. I don't care about the ease of development. I CARE about it working and NOT DELAYING MY PRODUCTIVITY. Forget Chromium! Earlier this year, MS announced they were going to have a new and improved version in April 2021. I think two version have been released since then - None of them have solved this issue. Is anyone at Microsoft Listening?!?!?!Solved350KViews43likes242CommentsVIEW ALL PARTICIPANTS IN VIDEO MEETING
We have 8 people on a daily video meeting in Teams. Default setup gives 3 or 4 video screens and then rest only appear as small icons in the bottom corner. We need it so all 8 can be seen with the member speaking being a larger window and the others still visible in video, but in smaller tiles. (similar to how it looks in Zoom) Is it possible to reconfigure settings?Solved1.5MViews40likes199CommentsTeams pulls up main window after switching application windows during a meeting
I hope I can explain this properly, please let me know if it isn't clear. OS: macOS Sonoma Teams version: 24277.3502.3161.3007 When I am in a Teams call, I will often need to temporarily switch windows to Chrome or another application. When I tab back to the Teams call, the Main Teams window will pop up on top of the call, which requires me to minimize it in order to view the call window. I haven't been able to find a setting that addresses this specifically. Simplified steps: Join a Teams call from the the primary Teams window or Outlook calendar Switch applications to something else - Slack, Chrome, etc. Click the Teams icon in the dock The Teams call will take focus The Teams main window automatically pops up overlays the call, hiding it Thanks in advance for your help and please let me know if there is anything I can clarify.2.5KViews33likes17CommentsCannot hide gallery in "focus on content" or "full screen" mode
Hi There, Previously, when I selected "focus on content" on Teams, the gallery would be hidden. Recently, I reinstalled my laptop and found out that after "focus on content" is select, all the other attendants face would be hidden, but not mine. The following picture shows the screenshot of the Teams. This phenomenon also happens when I use "Full Screen". Someone knows how to solved it? Thanks in advance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [update 1/28/2022]: A new Team v1.4.00.35564 has been released, and solved this issue. Please update your team.Solved34KViews31likes60CommentsNew Teams - Video freezing
I have no issues using the "old" version of teams. The problem only occurs in the "new" version. In a meeting all incoming video turns black (including shared screens). my image "floats" in the middle of the screen and is also frozen. The "mini" window when I minimize the application during a meeting show live/unfrozen incoming video of the speaker. Version Info: You have Microsoft Teams version 23231.413.2355.7555. You've got the latest version. It was last updated on 9/12/2023. The client version is 49/23082000931.114KViews27likes219CommentsInviting Specific People to Channel Meetings (NOT the whole Team)
Hi. I've spent quite a while on various forums looking for a definitive conversation on this, and can't find one. (Or, at least not one I like!) So... Is there any way to invite only a specific set of required and optional people to a Channel Meeting? That is, I want to create and manage the meeting invitation in a standard Channel (because I want the inevitable intra-meeting Chat to reside in the Channel); and I want to invite a working group of people (i.e., the group engaged on the specific meeting topic); and I don't mind if everyone in the Team can or does see that the meeting exists; and indeed I want the meeting results to be visible/accessible to everyone in the Team. BUT I really don't want the meeting invitation and tentative calendar entry to go out to all Team Members. Put one more way, simply: I have lots of Teams with dozens or hundreds of members, and within those Teams we often need to schedule and manage meetings that only require a subset of the Membership to attend. This ability seems so obviously useful to me. Without it, we either (a) use Channel Meetings as designed -- which means we accept the nuisance of inviting many not-particularly-interested people to a meeting, which is noisy and irksome; or (b) use Outlook to schedule (private) Teams meetings -- which forces valuable conversations and records (meeting chat, recordings and posted files) to naturally live outside the relevant Channel, which is horrible when we're trying to break users of a nasty Chat addiction and instead drive all related work inside its designated Channel. So... Is this feature being considered? Scheduled for delivery? Surely I'm far, far from alone in wanting this capability? thanks jhSolved44KViews24likes49Comments
