We have a request from our user community to be able to create a direct "deep link" to a particular part of a word document. For example, we have a pretty long word document that has headings and subheadings and so on, and instead of sending a link to the user and telling them to to Heading 2.3, would be nice if we could just send them a link that opened exactly where we want them to go. I read a bit about deep linking but this is something we need to be able to have users do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!7.3KViews7likes2CommentsMS Teams copy link for files doesn't provide Teams link, only give SharePoint link
Hello, I have one user in our org that is facing unusual issue with MS teams. Usually if we click on copy link in MS teams for any file to share, we get two links one for MS teams and another for SharePoint like below. But with this user, out of nowhere one link has disappeared and now that user only gets one link for SharePoint only. Only this user is affected with this and no other has reported. We tried to re-install teams from scratch with other troubleshooting as well but nothing has changed this. I even noticed that his Teams web app appearance has changed like this when tried to copy link. Does anyone know any resolution for this how to get it back to two copy links Teams and SharePoint instead of just one?Solved49KViews5likes49CommentsNew Teams - Backgrounds Folder
Recently, Microsoft released the new version of Teams for businesses, allowing the option to move end users to the new version or keep them on classic mode. However, one thing we've noticed is that the "Backgrounds" folder is no longer present in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams. Does anyone know where this folder went?Solved280KViews4likes24CommentsTeams chat crops photo previews
Lately, when I send a .png image (I share a lot of screen shots) Teams Chat has been automatically cropping the preview shown in chat so you can only see half of the screen shot. The entire picture cannot be seen unless you click on it and open it in the full screen view. It's only been doing this for about a week, so I don't know why this has suddenly changed. -edit- I have confirmed this happens with .jpg images too. Also, I am on a Mac. I'm the only one on my team that this happens to.Solved12KViews4likes19CommentsTeams get link function only shows sharepoint link
Hi, Team owner A suddenly can't create Teams Link to a pdf, only Sharepoint Link. Owner B can, so can members. Why does this happen? Hi all, I've recieved several questions about this and I'm also seeing too many topics about it here in the community. We all know about the update process for Teams as described here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-client-update and here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/update-microsoft-teams-535a8e4b-45f0-4f6c-8b3d-91bca7a51db1 for example. But sometimes you're just stuck as nothing happens when trying to clear the cache, reset the app, update and/or reinstall. This is an easy way to force an update of the desktop app (even though most updates happen backend). 1. Look for the latest version seen, one place to do it https://whatpulse.org/app/microsoft-teams 2. Copy the version number and paste it in the link below and hit enter. In my example, and at the time of writing, I'm updating to version 1.3.00.33971. https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-windows-x64/1.3.00.33971/Teams_windows_x64.exe I've been struggling with this myself some time ago knowing features being released backend but didn't show up in my desktop client. After this process the client was updated and the features appeared for me as well. Hope this will prevent some of you going mad.Solved172KViews4likes36CommentsRequest: MS Teams shows file path after search
Like Teams quite a bit. Except for searching on a file. When I search for a file, I find the file. I get a list of files with like names. I can open the file. But if I want to replace it, Teams doesn't tell me the path to the file. I can Open the file Click the file menu - that will tell me PART of the file path in SharePoint. Very often, I want to save a new file in the same folder as similar files. But it's difficult to find that folder. Can you return the entire path from the search? And when I right click, can you allow me the option not only to get a link but to get a file path? or Open File Location like I can in Windows?13KViews4likes5CommentsIs it possible to disable the Files tab from the Chat Window in Teams
Through Microsoft teams, our plan is to encourage our staff teams to go to their Teams location or Channel locations to manage their files. We do not want them to unintentionally associate group chat documents, to someones individual OneDrive account. How can we disable or hide the Files tab from the Chat section in Teams?33KViews4likes21Comments
