Hi, Since yesterday we have been having firm wide issues with camera usage and screen share in Teams calls. When user 1 calls user 2, user 1 can see user 2s camera and screen share. User 2 cannot see user 1s camera or screen share. It seems to be that the recipient cannot see camera feed or screen share, but the original caller can see incoming camera feeds and screen shares. We have tried fully reinstalling and nuking local cache, but no luck. Before we start looking a bit deeper, has any others had this at all. Many thanks guys624Views4likes4CommentsHow to revert "Automatically Hiding Inactive Channels" (globally) ?
Hi, some colleagues reported that they cannot find some channels in Teams anymore. I found this: https://office365itpros.com/2024/07/03/teams-inactive-channels/ And now I am worried becaues I can expierence the same behavior. We have lots of customer teams that get created from a MS Flow following a certain structure (5 general channels for each team). Lots of these channels are hidden now. I already unchecked the button in MS Teams saying: "Clean up channel list" but it seems like this is not reverting it. In some customer teams we have more than 100 channels for existing projects and the general channels such as "Basic Information" for example is at the very bottom and I would need to manually make it visible. This is obviously now acceptable. Does anyone know: Is there a way to globally deactivate that feature via MS Teams Admin and/or Intune to prevent newly registered devices / teams from cleaning up the channel list? Could not find anything so far. How can I revert these changes on existing devices so that it was like it was before (the general channels are on the top again). Thanks!!5.3KViews4likes6CommentsTeams Mobile - Screen Sharing error only on Android Pixel Phones
Today we noticed that when in a Teams meeting on a Google Pixel phone running the latest Android 14 OS, we are unable to use the Screen Share option in a meeting. The error message "Action Blocked. This action is not allowed by your organization." pops up after choosing to screen sharing. Those with this issue are able to share individual pictures, just not cast their entire screen to Teams. This led me to believe that one of our application protection policies was blocking this feature from working, but there is no such setting to enable. The closest one is related to screen capture and I have that allowed. Those with Samsung Android phones with the latest Android OS 14 are successfully able to Screen Share, so its not any policy we have related to android phones. iPhones are also successfully able to screen share from Teams without any issues. I did also check our global policy settings for meeting and content sharing is allowed. Content sharing is also allowed for the specific meeting we tested in. If anyone else has a Google Pixel phone with the latest version of android on it, please let me know if you are experiencing the same problems with sharing your screen in a Teams Meeting.3.3KViews4likes9CommentsBulk configuration of Favorites/Speed Dials for common area phones
We're about to deploy a large number of common area phones throughout our building for use in utility spaces and next to the stairs, each with its own 365 Shared Device user account and phone number. We would like to set their Favorites/Speed dials with contacts such as the Front Desk, the First Aid call queue, and the IT Service Centre. Is there any way to do this remotely as a bulk process, or does it have to be done individually? Is there a template, a policy, or some sort of scripting process that we could utilise? If nothing else, is there a way to automate signing in to 30-40 Teams accounts, setting each of their Favorites, and then log out again? This seems like a pretty standard requirement for common area phones, but I haven't found any clear documentation on carrying this out.1.8KViews2likes2CommentsLooks like the "share content from camera" option has been removed in the New Microsoft Teams app?
While working at home I use a dedicated PC to aggregate audio & video for recording and video conferencing. On the old Teams for Work app I could "share content from camera" while in a meeting which would let me select a capture card to share. As opposed to hooking a windowed application or capturing a connected display. I used to have a "fake" display (via an EDID emulator) that I would full screen OBS on. So, I could share my screen in Discord. But Discord finally added capture card support a couple weeks ago... and for a second all popular video conferencing apps had the option to share a capture card (Discord, Teams, Zoom, etc). I was happy to finally be rid of this fake display. It causes other issues / confusion since it's technically a display in windows, but fairly inaccessible as it can't be physically seen. Unfortunately, it looks like as soon as Discord added this option, Microsoft teams removed it?2.8KViews2likes7CommentsMS Teams not outputting to my headphones/headset.
Hi, I'm connecting with my Bose NC700 Headphones (https://www.bose.com/p/headphones/bose-noise-cancelling-headphones-700/NC700-HEADPHONEARN.html) and they work under Windows 10 Pro. While they are also connected to my phone (Pixel 6) and Window laptop, I can hear YouTube videos fine and I can record fine. However, I can't hear anyone when I connect to a meeting, though those in the meeting say they hear me. I've tried using the "Call me" feature to connect to the meeting, but after a while, I get choppiness in hearing and others say I sound choppy. Attempting to force to all Teams.exe to priority 13 seems to help, but the issue is still there. I've also attempted this while disconnecting from my phone with the same results. Doing a test call Settings > Devices > Make a test call seems to also has this same issue. More > Settings > Device Settings shows mic's bar rising and falling and the circle around Echo flashes to appear to indicate that it is trying to say something. Switching to internal speakers bear this out. The mic works, I'm just not getting output to my headset/headphones. At one point there was a workaround where I'd have to connect to the meeting, go to More > Settings > Device Settings and changing the speaker to the laptop and then back to my headset, but this workaround also no longer works. 😠I've had to resort to connect to the meeting on my phone, but now I can barely see anything on the screen. Connecting to both laptop and phone causes the phone output to stop working (not sure about the mic) even when I tell the laptop connection to not use audio which says, "Join muted to avoid causing audio disruption". NOTE: There is no Test call" to allow me to verify this type of connection and would be appreciated for diagnostics. Anyone else having this issue? I've been crippled from BEING ABLE TO DO MY JOB for over a couple of months now AND IS GETTING VERY TIRESOME! I need at least a workaround that works other than connecting with my phone so I can see what's being presented. Thx.4.2KViews2likes8CommentsMicrophone not working mid call
I use teams with my bluetooth headset. But all of a sudden few weeks ago my problem starts. Micrphone is unmuted, but nobody can hear me. When i go to audio settings switch to notebook mic and back to headset, it works. Then i mute mic and again unmute and again nobody can hear me. I didnt change anything. I dont know if its so hard for M$ engineers to make simple IM app where the basics work without issue. Really hate this app and somebody from M$ should be fired for this piece of sh*t.168Views1like1CommentExtracting Device and Participation Details in Microsoft Teams
Hi everyone, I am working on a project for my organization to extract detailed information about Teams calls. Specifically, I need to gather data on the devices used by participants, as well as their join and leave times for each Teams meeting. This includes both participants and organizers. My current approach involves: 1. Using Microsoft Graph API to access call and participant data. 2. Fetching relevant details such as device type, join time, and leave time. - What are the best practices for extracting and managing this data? - Are there any specific API endpoints or techniques you recommend for efficiently retrieving this information? - How can I ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data collected? - Are there any tools or libraries that can simplify this process? Looking forward to your insights and experiences! Thanks in advance for your help!133Views1like2CommentsTeams Email/Conversations
Hi. Recently, 3 weeks or so ago, we lost the ability to access Team email boxes from Conversations in SharePoint. In the past, we were able to open the email box from conversations but now when we do so, we are redirected to our own OWA mailbox and then to Groups. The Teams M365 Groups don't show up in that view. The only Groups that show up are O365 Groups or O365 Groups that were converted to Teams. We are extremely frustrated because we use these inboxes to receive emails from guests and other external users and it is impeding progress amongst our teams. Is anyone else experiencing this? We have a ticket open with MS but so far have not reached a resolution. Thanks!102Views1like3Comments
