Microsoft Teams is currently unable to make/receive calls due to the app being unable to set a Microphone or speaker device. The 'Audio Devices' profile within settings is set to 'Custom Setup' and no other option is available in the drop down (screenshot attached). When try to continue using the custom setup, no devices are available as the drop-downs are unclickable (screenshot attached). Other useful info: OS: Windows 10 - latest Microsoft Teams Version: 1.2.00.24753 (64 bit). It was last updated on 22/09/2019. I have uninstalled and re-installed teams. Audio devices work fine in all other applications No other application is using the devices when Teams is being tested.Solved604KViews6likes58CommentsMicrosoft Teams Bluetooth Headset No Sound When Using External Mic
I am currently on Windows 11 Build 22504.rs_prelease.211112-1650 and whenever I use Microsoft Teams Desktop (Version 1.4.00.29469 (64-bit), last updated on 2021-11-06) with my Taotronics TT-BH22 headset, I cannot hear anything from the headset's speakers in the call unless I use the headset's microphone. The two problems with using the headset's own microphone are that The audio quality becomes very poor for no reason I want to use my external Blue Yeti microphone instead of my headset microphone. The above picture is what I would like my Teams audio setup to be, with my Taotronics headphones as the speakers and my Yeti as the microphone. With this setup in a Teams call, although I can notice sound being played to my Taotronics via the sound control panel (see image below), I do not hear it. So I effectively cannot use my external microphone in Teams because I have a bluetooth headset mic, and when I use the bluetooth headset's microphone in Teams, the sound on the headset works, but it is of very poor quality. I have tried disabling the headset mic, but that doesn't fix the issue, as I still can't hear anything from my headphones. I've been able to use Teams on the browser without an issue, but I need the features on Teams Desktop since the browser version is limited.Solved55KViews5likes23CommentsProblems with custom audio setup on teams.
I have been using teams for my school for the past 3 months. Until recently I used to have a custom setup for my audio devices where I would use my Bluetooth Boat Airdopes 441 as the output and my Headset Microphone (plugged in through the 3.5 mm jack) as the input. However since a week this setup has stopped working. The moment I do this setup, I stop hearing the meeting. The only way my earphones work is when both the Audio input and output are from the headphones. However when I use my speaker as the output, it works perfectly. (Refer Screenshot). I am on Windows 11 and using teams for work and school version. Also this setup works perfectly on Discord and Zoom so there isn't a problem with the headphones or the microphone.18KViews4likes10CommentsWindows 11 b.132 random bluetooth audio quality drop
It happens randomly and sporadically whenever you start listening to a new audio (video) after period of silence: for a few seconds sound quality drops as if headset is in communication mode (which greatly reduces quality), then everything goes back to normal. Sure enough, when I go to sound settings after that happens headset is marked as communication device (which I keep changing to another device every time, but it somehow switches back again). I don't use my headset for communication at all, only listen in 'music mode', its mic is completely disabled in settings (as I use external microphone), so I can't imagine why would it fallback to communication profile. Build .132, this problem had NEVER occurred in Windows 10, been using my headphones for more than six months, so I'm pretty confident this is W11 bluetooth audio related bug.11KViews3likes11CommentsSome YouTube videos only play audio, no video, in Edge v116
ISSUE There is an issue in the Edge 116 stable-release with some YouTube videos. Some videos that used to play without-issue in the 115 release no-longer work in the 116 release: the audio on such videos will play, but not the video. Even most adverts on YouTube are affected! Here is an example video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nydwk87iEuM ("5 Monster Waves Caught On Camera" by "Underworld") Here you can see that video in the latest Edge and Firefox browsers: CODEC AND APP-VERSION INFO The "stats for nerds" YouTube feature reports the following codecs for that video: Edge: av01.0.04M.08 (397) / opus (251) Firefox: av01.0.01M.08 (396) / opus (251) And I am using the following software-versions: Edge: 116.0.1938.62 (Official build) (64-bit) Firefox: 117.0 (non-ESR) x64 Windows: 10 Home 22H2 x64 (Build 19045.3324) TROUBLESHOOTING I have already tried turning "Use hardware acceleration when available" off, and restarting Edge, but it made no-difference. I then turned it back on, but it made no-difference. In edge://flags I have tried turning "Hardware-accelerated video decode" to Disabled, but it made no-difference. Neither did changing "Choose ANGLE graphics backend" to "D3D9" (which I read on another site to try).5.7KViews2likes9CommentsMicrosoft Teams for Mac. Include computer sound
After reading many articles on this new feature for MS Teams for Mac, I unfortunately discovered that it was not yet fully implement and/or was removed in its latest update. I am running version 1.4.00.4971 on a MacBook Pro and still have problems to find out how to include computer sound during my video conferences using MS Teams. It seems there is need to install a drive which would allow this new feature to work properly. However, I could not find it at all. I would appreciate any helpful feedback on this issue.2KViews2likes1CommentTeams incorrectly thinks my "volume level is too low"
I am using my thunderbolt connected monitors' audio device. It is an audio device that has an analog volume control (i.e, it doesn't have HID volume controls). Every time I am in a Teams call, I see a popup window saying something like "Your volume level is low and you might not be able to hear... bla bla bla." Well, yes, if I go into my Teams Device settings - I see that the volume level is exactly Zero - and cannot be modified - no surprise to me. Can we fix this please? Surely Teams is able to see that there is not volume control for the active device? The popup message keeps appearing, right over peoples faces... it's a pain. Thanks.2.7KViews2likes1CommentBlasts of white noise when using Jabra Evolve 75 SE headset.
When in a Teams call or Teams meeting after a couple of minutes I get a very loud blast of white noise in my headset. The blast is continuous and sometimes I can just about make out speech noises in it. Othertimes speech is audible but garbled like it's been scrambled somehow. If I leave and rejoin the meeting it is okay for maybe 30 seconds or so and then happens again. If I switch to another audio device (eg Laptop internal mic/speakers), even without leaving the meeting it all works fine through that device. Switch back to the Jabra and I get blasted eardrums within a minute or so. This only happens when using the Jabra, and it happens regardless of whether it is a USB, Bluetooth or JabraLink connection. The Jabra works fine with Zoom, and works fine as a bluetooth headset on my iPhone. No issues there. Only with MS Teams on Win11 System running Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22631 This headset is certified for MS Teams. Teams Software last updated 14th Oct 2024 Jabra headset with latest firmware.402Views1like0CommentsTeams Live-Event with RTMP ingest
Dear all, I have a couple of questions regarding the new Teams Live-Events with RTMP ingest (using an external encoder). So far I´ve been using MS Stream live-events for professional livestreams with an external encoder and it worked great. But since the Stream live-events will be shut down at some point this year, I have to make the switch to the Teams live-events (with RTMP ingest). Is there an option to disable all automatic audio enhancement functions (like noise reduction, etc.)? If I stream music/spoken language to the live-event it doesn´t sound as good as with the Microsoft Stream live-events. Do teams live-events with RTMP ingest offer a buffer in case one of the viewers has an internet problems? Because to me it seems like the RTMP In live-events work rather like a general Teams Video-Call, so that in case of internet problems the audio will still be audible and the image will freeze. Usually streaming platforms have a buffer that will be filled to prevent audio-video dropouts. How do live-events in MS Teams in general differ from the live-events in MS Stream? Thanks in advance for your help! Best regards.981Views1like1Comment
