Quality & Performance
230 TopicsTeams just started using near 100% CPU and memory
Teams has recently begun consuming all available resources, resulting in a very sluggish user experience. Total CPU and memory usage are at or near100%, with Teams using about 80% of CPU and 23 GB memory. I'm working on a Surface Book 3 i7 32 GB with everything up to date. Environment is Windows 11 and MS 365 GCC with latest Teams version 1.6.00.12455 (64-bit), updated 6/7/2023. The problems started in the last several days. Prior to that I'd been using Teams without notable incidents for years, about 12 months in GCC. When I kill all Teams processes with Task Manager, resource usage levels immediately drop to normal (CPU about 30%). If I configure start-up without Teams and reboot, resource usage is also normal. I've run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow with clean results. -KenSolved119KViews2likes17CommentsTeams on macOS only shows a blank white screen
Hi all, for a few weeks now, my Teams app on macOS doesn't work anymore. When I open it, I just get a blank white window. No possibility to do anything. Closing and Re-Opening the Window doesn't help. Quitting the app takes unusually long (~10-15 seconds). What I've tried: Deleting and re-installing the app Deleting caches and other "Application Data" (while re-installing the app) Logging out and back in Sweeping the entire app and any data associated with it using AppCleaner, then re-installing the app Up until now, I could use an old installer to get an older version of Teams (v1.00.333671). This would then still run with almost no issues, only the "virtual background" feature in video calls was not working. However, since Teams has Auto-Update always enabled and it's impossible to turn off, this only lasts a few days. Starting today, it stopped working altogether and now only shows a "please update to the latest version" banner. So now I'm stuck using the web app in the browser, which is far from great. Hardware is a 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2018, running the latest macOS Monterey. Needless to say that up until this problem showd up, everything was running perfectly. No problems with the teams app whatsoever, and all features worked as expected. So I guess it can't be a hardware issue. Software-wise there isn't much going on apart from the usual macOS updates. I'd appreciate any tips on how I can resolve this.57KViews0likes25CommentsCamera Freezing - possibly after an update.
Since a couple of days, using Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.4472 (64-bit), my camera randomly but constantly freeze. Windows version is 10.0.19044 Build 19044. I use a Sony a7s connected to an Elgato Camlink 4K on an AMD Ryzen System with Windows 10 and this has worked flawlessly for several years, which makes me believe that some recent update has caused this. (I have several colleagues experiencing this too) For audio, I use a Rode Podcaster + regular speakers. - So far I've tried updating all the drivers for Elgato and so on. - I've reinstalled Teams (and made sure ALL Teams caches were deleted after uninstalling) Anything else one can try, this makes meetings and product demos etc look very unprofessional. Thanks for any input.38KViews2likes50CommentsTeams Screen Sharing Disabled
We are having multiple users reporting that they are not able to do Screen Sharing when they initiate the call the button is greyed out and says "Screensharing is disabled". Scenarios where it works: If Someone else initiates the call then the user who had issues in this case the receiver of the call, can share screen. They can initiate a screen share then unmute, works. Currently running the new Teams client version 23247.1112.2396.409 in a corporate environment with CIS benchmarks configured via GPO, SSL packet inspection and content filtering, etc... So, lots of opportunity for our security posture to create interference with normal operation of new software, which I suspect is the case here. I cannot remove an old sing account from Teams on Mac OS. I have to delete the keychain, I delete the temp folder, and remove and reinstall Teams, and the old account is still there. I have a case open with the Microsoft team, and they cannot figure it out. Where is the login info store, and why has Microsoft not provided a solution where users can remove accounts as easily as they can add? Hi all, hope you can help. I work for a local council in the UK's IT department and we were looking into why a particular user couldn't get live captions to work in Teams meetings/calls. All of the options are enabled to get them to work, but in teams calls, it just shows the area at the bottom of the call window where the captions should appear, but no words come up. We updated the user's computer, and reinstalled the Teams app. We have tested this on the Teams app, as well as the browser version of Teams, on multiple computers, with different people, to the same result. The live captions simply aren't working. The user also mentioned their sister who works for another council is also having the same issue. Could this issue with live captions not working be widespread?Solved26KViews11likes45CommentsTeams installation fails with Squirrel error in application log
I am unable to reinstall Teams on my PC. The systemwide installer, Store app and downloaded installer all fail with the same error. I have removed the app, and deleted the temp and cache files I could find. Now, when I run the Teams desktop or Store app installer an error message is shown saying "Installation has failed." The link to open the log opens a Squirrel log that has not been updated in months. Another clue: While researching Squirrel, I found a page that mentioned Discord also uses it on Windows. As an experiment, I attempted to install Discord and got the same error message as I got with Teams. I checked the Windows application log and noticed these events were generated every time I tried to install. Now I am stuck and unable to install Teams on my desktop. Hi, there is an issue when joining a Teams meetings leading to a significant lag or delay of mouse pointer speed. This happens across devices (notebooks, workstations); this is affecting a novel Logitech device connected via BT and Teams joining via web-interface, but also for Teams App. IMO this is a fundamental issue (either PHY or MS level), why a software (Teams) is suddenly "interfering" with the mouse pointer (speed). Internet bandwidth is fine at > 50 mbit. Once I logout of the meeting, the pointer is "released". Additionally, the lag is immediately "released", once another users starts sharing (taking over). Note that the lag is there before sharing anything from main-user side. Does anyone experience this "phenomena"? Are there any reports, which are known to the MS Teams dev team. Are there any ideas or concrete solutions to this issue? I consider "go to settings" not the answer, this seems to be some be internal or "layers below the surface". Regards14KViews1like20Comments
