Teams installation fails with Squirrel error in application log
I am unable to reinstall Teams on my PC. The systemwide installer, Store app and downloaded installer all fail with the same error.
I have removed the app, and deleted the temp and cache files I could find. Now, when I run the Teams desktop or Store app installer an error message is shown saying "Installation has failed." The link to open the log opens a Squirrel log that has not been updated in months.
Another clue: While researching Squirrel, I found a page that mentioned Discord also uses it on Windows. As an experiment, I attempted to install Discord and got the same error message as I got with Teams.
I checked the Windows application log and noticed these events were generated every time I tried to install.
Now I am stuck and unable to install Teams on my desktop.

- Marcus287Copper ContributorI am also having the same issue with Teams and Discord
This also seems to affect other programs on my PC like Razer Synapse which are now not working, please let me know if you came across a fix! - walterzevCopper Contributor
I had the same problem. What finally worked for me was keeping teams installed and clicking on the Installer for Squrrel based apps, wich is the .exe file. It shoudn`t be like this, but so far so god,
