Mouse pointer lag or delay or shaky

Hi,

there is an issue when joining a Teams meetings leading to a significant lag or delay of mouse pointer speed.

This happens across devices (notebooks, workstations); this is affecting a novel Logitech device connected via BT and Teams joining via web-interface, but also for Teams App.

IMO this is a fundamental issue (either PHY or MS level), why a software (Teams) is suddenly "interfering" with the mouse pointer (speed). Internet bandwidth is fine at > 50 mbit.

Once I logout of the meeting, the pointer is "released". Additionally, the lag is immediately "released", once another users starts sharing (taking over). Note that the lag is there before sharing anything from main-user side.

Does anyone experience this "phenomena"? Are there any reports, which are known to the MS Teams dev team. Are there any ideas or concrete solutions to this issue? I consider "go to settings" not the answer, this seems to be some be internal or "layers below the surface".

Regards

Can confirm this, have the same thing. As soon as a team meeting starts, my mouse starts lagging like crazy. Using a Logitech mouse with the G-Hub, in case this helps.

  • @All:

My Teams has been updated to "new teams" version:

You have Microsoft Teams version 23285.3607.2525.937.

So far it seems not to occur with new teams.

      Update:

Just now, in new Teams, the meeting was running smoothly. Then, completely randomly, the mouse got "the lag" again. There was a short moment, when the voice of the presenter was increased, after this moment the lag was there.

Does this relate to Bluetooth BT?

      Test:

      1. Actively running meeting; One mouse MX vertical connected with BT; no other BT devices
      2. Poly Sync 20 connected with USB lead and BT
      3. Disconnect BT
      4. Voice/acoustic is handled by USB, no problem with switchig BT/USB
      5. Mouse lag released, completely fluency restored

      Bluetooth noise HF/Chipset/PHY/Driver issue???

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with Bluetooth, I use a 2.4GHz mouse and with a wired mouse (wireless dongle unplugged) the problem is also present.

Having this issue with "new" Teams, can be because of using BT headset? Last version of drivers installed as of now.

I've been experiencing the same thing for a while too, since moving to new Teams on my MB Pro.  It has occurred using both an Apple Magic Mouse and Logitech MX Master 3 for Mac.  I've noticed that it's occurring when I am using a BT headset for audio (Airpods Pro or others).  When I switch meeting audio to a USB device, the mouse lag disappears... seems like Teams start struggling when using two BT devices at once.

I am here because I see the same thing with New teams. Very poor control of the mouse during a presentation, no matter if I am presenting or viewing, and keystroke stuuuuuuuuuutter. (this is what happens, and then I have to wait till it lets me backspace it out.) I was hoping there was a patch for this, as it is awful, even on an 13th Generation I7.

williamschubert - Getting the same thing, just having teams running. Trying to pinpoint it but we upgraded our business account from Gmail over the weekend and using Office365 and teams now. Not even getting to sharing anything. No special mouse, just track on MS MacBook Air 2022 (M2).

This happened to me just now.  I am using VDI over VPN.  Win 10.  It happened this morning, first time ever.

TechCommunityUser929451 I have been having this problem for some time now, with both classic and new Teams.  It seems as if it has something to do with the feature allowing someone to "take control" of someone else's shared screen to allow their pointer to be seen by the whole meeting and/or control the shared presentation.   However, I've noticed this lag whether or not I or someone else has tried to use the feature.  And in my case, the lag persists long after the meeting has ended.  I end up having to kill any Teams tasks in the Task Manager to fix the lag.

This happens on both my workstation and my laptop.  I am using a MX master 35 logitech wireless mouse and keyboard on my workstation and a logitech bluetooth mouse on my laptop.  I am now exclusively using the new Teams.

I also experience this issue, but it is not exclusive to Teams - making calls on WhatsApp Desktop also does the same.

I use a Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and Poly Voyager 4320 UC bluetooth headset.

As soon as I disconnect the call the mouse pointer is back to normal. This happens regardless of screen sharing or other Teams functions; as soon as I place the call it lags.

This is happening with me.  I have a Zbook with Windows 10 Enterprise - i am using a logitech Ergo M575 trackball.  I experience the lag no matter if someone is sharing or not.
