Seeking a Shared Calendar Solution for Mixed Microsoft 365 and Non-365 Users I’m working on a solution to create a shared company calendar that everyone in our organization can view, while keeping editing permissions limited to a few selected individuals. The challenge: Some of our team members do not use Microsoft 365, and I’d like them to still be able to subscribe to or view the calendar and receive updates. Ideally, this should work without requiring full Microsoft accounts. I initially considered using an ICS-based calendar, but it seems Microsoft 365 Group calendars don’t support sharing via ICS links. I also explored creating a Group calendar as suggested in other threads, but ran into issues making it accessible to external users or those without 365 accounts. For context, I’m a Global Admin, so I have full access to configure settings in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Exchange if needed. We’re a small business, and our main goal is to have a centralized calendar for vacation schedules and company-wide events. It should be simple to access and maintain, with a focus on collaboration and accessibility across the board. What I’m looking for: A calendar that’s viewable by all, including non-M365 users Editable only by a few delegated team members Compatible with Microsoft 365, but not dependent on it for basic access Any tools, workarounds, or best practices that have worked for others in similar hybrid environments9Views0likes0CommentsMS Outlook app on Apple Watch SE
I have an Apple Watch SE (A2355) and the MS Outlook app cannot be installed on it anymore. It was an excellent way to access my work calendar on the go. The reason is that the OS version is 10.6 but 11 is needed. Is there a workaround or a fix for this? Note that I can't use Apple Calendar because my employer has disabled the Outlook calendar sharing function for security reasons.6Views0likes0CommentsBookings time slots
Hi everyone, I have a booking calendar created, which is designed to support two customers at the same time. So 2 slots can be booked at the same time. I was trying to change only one of them, reschedule it for another day, but I can't see such an option. Whenever I'm trying to change only one of the bookings, it reschedules both of them. Does anyone know if there is such an option, but I don't know how to do it, or there is no option like that. Thank you.44Views0likes1CommentHow to control which users you see in the Places app
My company is looking into using the Places app. I have buildings, rooms, floors, etc, all setup. This is duplicated from what is already setup for Room Finder in Outlook. We use M365 Business Premium or M365 E5 licenses. Nobody has Teams Premium licenses at this point. Those of us testing have set our working days/hours/location in the Calendar in New Outlook and that shows up fine in Places. I can see the people I favorited and what building they are in (whether it's in New Outlook, Teams or the M365 Copilot Places app. The issue I am having is that I see one user (who I have not favorited) listed every day and I have no idea how to remove this person from my daily Places list. Other people also see this same person in their Places list and some see a different person. I only want to see those people I have favorited and nobody else. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?231Views0likes4CommentsMicrosoft Places individual desk booking is not working
Hi, Following the documentation, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/places/configure-desk-booking, I successfully ran the shared command lines without any errors. However, on Microsoft Places, I am unable to see individual desks appear; only desk pools are visible. Has anyone managed to get this to work? Thanks,1.4KViews2likes19CommentsAudit booking changes
Have users reporting long-standing discrepancies on room bookings - stuff being cancelled months ago, but not showing anywhere. I remember in the past, being able to audit this. Unfortunately, we now have Purview - a tool we didn't ask for, don't want, but allegedly are forced to use. These are Resources in 365, they have Exchange Mailboxes. Exchange has a tool to search for changes, but demands the subject line. The booking has been removed by the users - and I have no idea if this wants the original 'Booking' or the 'Re: Booking' or the 'FW: booking' or which of the 120 emails were generated. So I'm looking for alternative ways. I believe in the past, I did this via Defender. There WERE activities for Mailbox changes within this audit tool. They appear to be gone - or searching for Mailbox just removes all activities labeled 'Mailbox', I'm not sure. CoPilot gives me an evolving series of deprecated/possibly non-existent cmdlets for powershell, so that's fun. please do not refer me to another terrible marketing 'article'.. I have read so many, learned absolutely nothing useful, and I'm over it. Thank you169Views0likes3Commentssynchronising outlook calendars between accounts
Hello together, I've got 2 different 365 accounts and have the Calendar in use on both. I'm searching for a possibility to sync between the two calendars so that if in one of the calendars an entry is entered, it gets synced to the calendar on the second account that gets synced as well. The other way around as well. Any ideas? br130Views0likes2CommentsMake Bookings calendar events private by default?
Hi everyone! We are currently attempting to use Microsoft Bookings with external people. When someone books an appointment with us, a calendar entry that includes the full name of the person booking the appointment is created in the staff's calendar. The staff's calendar is visible throughout the entire organization, meaning everyone can see who scheduled an appointment with us. This is a privacy issue for us. Making these appointments private in the Outlook calendar would be a solution, but I can't seem to find an option to make Bookings appointments private by default. Changing calendar permissions is also not an option for our organization. I was also not successful in building a flow with Power Automate since linking the booking to a meeting turned out to be difficult. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!417Views1like2CommentsPractical Purview: Removing Old Items from User Calendars
A reader wants to remove all calendar items over a certain age. Compliance purge actions seem like a good way to do this, but there's a problem that needs to be fixed. eDiscovery purges can do the job, but only if you have eDiscovery Premium. And then there's Graph APIs to consider. All in all, many ways exist to purge calendar items. https://practical365.com/ediscovery-purges/57Views2likes0CommentsCalendar to send invites from a generic email address
I've basically set up a shared mailbox called meetings@... The intention is to use its calandar to book meetings for various groups in our club membership and to have one central area where a team of staff can use it instead of their own logins and cluttering up their personal calendars. What we want is the invites for this calendar invite to appear to come from meetings@... I've added a few people as members of the shared calendar so they can post invites. However, even if we send out an invite "From:meetings@...", the invitee always gets the invite from the individual, not the shared account. The meeting invite has to come from meetings@.... How do we do this? Have I missed something when setting this up? Is the Event creating process different to posting from a personal mailbox? Is using a shared mailbox even the best way to create this shared calendar?Solved9.7KViews0likes4Comments
