Encryption Settings for Documents Leaving the Organisation
Hello, I am exploring MIP in greater detail and have a query about what might happen with a couple of specific scenarios. I was hoping an expert out there might be able to please clarify. Organisation A sets up Unified Labelling with a "confidential" classification label and applies it to a document. The protection settings within organisation A for documents of this type insert the word "Confidential" in the header and footer of the document and apply encryption that only members of organisation A can read the contents. If this document is then accidentally sent as an attachment to an email to Organisation B, what would the expectation be for what the unintended recipient could do with it? My expectation would be that the item should not be opened at all but if it was, then I would expect the header and footer could not be changed. Would this be correct? The 2nd scenario I have, is if organisation A has a label of "public" for example for a particular item. If this is sent out to organisation B who receive it but then store it in SharePoint with their own protection settings against the item from a label of their own, are the values combined somehow? If the item is sent back to Org A, will it now have organisation B's protection settings only or a combination of both? One option we have for example is to remove encryption from an item if we choose to so would that mean we could effectively decrypt and remove such controls if the right label was applied?Re: Send email from Teams
Hello kamil1365, I believe it would be possible to accomplish what you want using an adaptive card. These are supported in Teams via the Bot Framework and it should be possible to provide a button that can be used to open another application. For more information please seehttps://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/task-modules-and-cards/cards/cards-reference.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Search people in Teams with display name
hongwoo_jinrunning in cloud-only I cannot reproduce this scenario. If I add a user to my domain via M365 admin center they become available to add to Teams, chat and search within 30 minutes using the display name or UPN. I have no on-premise domain so all identities are cloud-only for all services. Are you configured with a hybrid connection for user identities, Exchange or other?20KViews0likes1CommentRe: Disable start new chats
Thanks for clarifying Enrique Sanchez. The scenario for the classroom sounds like a good idea and there is already a suggestion on UserVoice for a similar feature:https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/40356793-allow-chat-calls-on-teams-between-the-teacher-own.6KViews0likes1CommentRe: Disable start new chats
Hola y buenas tardes Enrique Sanchez, Currently I don't think it is possible to create the scenario you are asking for. If the private chat function is disabled then that user cannot have a private chat with anyone and is forced to instead use a channel discussion within a Team if they want to start a conversation. This is no longer "private" as it will be visible by all other members of that team or private channel. If you would like to suggest this is added then I recommend looking at UserVoice at:https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/. I'm curious, why would you want to prevent a user from starting new chat but allow them to be invited to chat by others? It feels like a messy workaround but perhaps you could consider adding specific users to private channels to limit who they can chat with. You could then use channel moderation on the other channels within the Team to stop that same person posting into the other standard channels.6.2KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Deny Access
Stefan Ã…bergI believe it is not possible to block access to the calendar functionality, it is only possible to hide it with an App Setup Policy.https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/policies/app-setup With it hidden, it is still possible for the user to access via the ellipsis menu as they are still permitted automatically due to their allocated licences. I have tried removing a user's Exchange licence which will remove Outlook from the app launcher but their calendar and appointments are still visible within Teams with or without hiding the Calendar app.943Views1like0CommentsRestrict Team Creation from an O365 Group
Hello, I am aware of and have implemented the documented restriction for users who can create O365 Groups which then prevents them from creating new Teams. For users that do not have permission to create new Teams, if they had existing O365 Groups that were created before the restriction was implemented they now have the option to convert an existing group into a Team. Can anyone please advise if its possible to restrict this option as well to prevent users from converting their O365 Groups into Teams?Solved2.3KViews0likes3Comments
