Re: Update Channels blocking Customer Copilot 365 Adoption
Cfreemanultima First off, Thank You for your post. You are correct in your understanding that Copilot is only supported in Current Channel and Monthly Enterprise Channel. We have worked with many organizations to adopt copilot through usage of our App Assure teams to help unblock macros and custom apps. In addition, I have worked with ISV's to support Monthly Enterprise Channel which empowers the customers using their product to adopt Monthly Enterprise Channel. I would suggest you reach out to your account team and discuss the options. If you do not have an account team I would be happy to jump on a call and discuss next steps. Please send me a DM. Here is a list of resources I suggest you take a look at: Learn more about the requirements for Microsoft 365 Copilot Follow the blog series on What’s new in Copilot to keep up to date on the latest news Learn more about the benefits of using Monthly Enterprise Channel in this Forrester study Read the change update channels guide for directions on managing update channels across multiple technologies Learn more about the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center and the features available with Cloud Update Follow our guide for Cloud Update to get started Watch these short tutorial videos about the latest features in Cloud Update Check out our other deployment and servicing videos for Microsoft 365 Apps Work with App Assure to unblock your app compatibility issues894Views1like1CommentRe: Microsoft 365 Updates Monthly Channel
Please check out this blog post by Dave on the update flow. Pay close attention to the priority list in the lower third of the article. If the device is not up to date and saying it's up to date, there is most likely a target version key present telling the device to not move above the designated build. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365-blog/understanding-office-365-proplus-updates-for-it-pros-cdn-vs-sccm/ba-p/795728578Views0likes0CommentsRe: How do I make the cursor visible while typing in word
Do you work for a company that could open a case with Microsoft? If not you could also rech out to our disability answer desk https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Accessibility/disability-answer-desk?activetab=contact-pivot%3aprimaryr891KViews0likes0CommentsRe: MS office 2016 perpetual Volume Licenses Queries
Achacko Thanks for your questions How do we find the number of activation done against one MAK (Multiple Activation Key) Volume Licenses –Office 2016 (A)This has to be reviewed by the Microsoft Volume License Service Center team. You can also use VAMT What is the maximum number of activation allowed on a volume licenses- say the key for 100 licenses. (A)The Multiple Activation Keys are given a set amount of activations this can be identified with MVLS or the Volume Activation Management Tool linked above. Reallocation of volume licenses - Can we disable the volume licenses from one machine and activate it in another in case the user is changing the laptops. if yes steps to be followed. (A)The best tool to manage your Volume License keys is: Volume Activation Management Tool2.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Reset Microsoft 365 Apps activation state
aleyn Thank you for the feedback I will make sure I share the details with engineering. We have made considerable improvements with activation in versions post 1909 of Office. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.23KViews1like1CommentRe: Reset Microsoft 365 Apps activation state
eacartwright Thanks for the feedback! You can totally use just the steps in the script. Before the script it's all we had in the beginning. The only thing I would caution on is if using Windows 10 there are some additional settings that might need to be cleared validate the Workplace join accounts are removed.26KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Problem with Office 365 ProPlusRetail Deployment tool
Matej_Brcic All that was attached was a screen shot of the error 30029-1007 Here are some similar issues with the error code and the results: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_o365admin-mso_dep365-mso_o365b/office-deployment-tool-error-code-30029-1007-0/47aa6b6d-e10d-4287-ae21-77ec21963126?auth=1 In order for me to help attach the XML you created so I can review. I would also suggest that you run /download and confirm the FULL client is downloaded and then run /configure. We can work through this once I am able to review the XML you used for the install.7.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: packaging Office 365 Pro PLus
Siocnarf I would suggest following the Configuration options for the XML here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/configuration-options-for-the-office-2016-deployment-tool Here is a snippet: Remove element Defines which products and languages to remove from a previous installation of Office 365 ProPlus. To remove an installed language, you must provide both the product and the language, as in the example. For more information, see Overview of the Office Deployment Tool. Example XML Copy <Remove All="FALSE"> <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail" > <Language ID="es-es" /> </Product> </Remove> All attribute (part of Remove element) If set to TRUE, all Office 365 ProPlus products and languages will be removed. Optional. The default value is FALSE. Allowed values: All="FALSE" All="TRUE" If you're only wanting OneDrive.exe then use the stand alone installer: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=248256 In closing, when building your XML's for Office 365 ProPlus always use https://config.office.com/757Views0likes0CommentsRe: Auto update from 1803 to 1808? When?
Robert K What is the scope of the issue: Is it only this affected user? or more? As mentioned already SAC has had the 1808 update since Jan 8th. The current release is: Version 1808 (Build 10730.20304) Update Options > Update Now should force an update to the latest build in SAC which is Version 1808 (Build 10730.20304) Troubleshooting this issue: Validate and report back what is present in the below registry keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\Configuration CDNBaseURL -> UpdateChannel -> UpdateURL -> UpdatesEnabled -> If not the registry I would verify that your users can hit cdn.microsoft.com1.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Issue with O365 account on a machine with 2 accounts
Hey Mark, The flow you're seeing is "by design" Office uses the SignedInADUser for Windows to activate/authenticate. When Office is launched on a clean machine we use the Signed in AD User. If you want to change this behavior you will break Single Sign On but you WILL be able to enter specific credentials. Your Office apps will use the cached UPN going forward. Please follow the steps on my blog post here to clean u the activation https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/odsupport/2015/05/01/how-to-reset-an-office-365-install-to-the-initial-activationinstall-state/ Once cleaned up crate the NoDomainUser registry key to force Office to prompt for sign in rather than using the AD User signed into Windows. Start Registry Editor. Navigate to the following registry subkey: Office 2016 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity Office 2013 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity Right-click the entry, and then select New. Add a new DWORD value to the registry called NoDomainUser, and then set it to a value of 1. Please reply with any questions or concerns.16KViews0likes1CommentRe: Dectection Method for Office 365 ProPlus installer in ConfigMgr CB 1803
Hello Daniel, I agree the Version To Report key is going to cause issues especially after a few updates to Office. I think a better approach is to change the detection logic to search for the following key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\O365ProPlusRetail - en-us If this key is present then Office 365 ProPlus is installed. Any questions or concerns let me know.6.4KViews0likes2CommentsRe: 365 Software deployment/activation
Hello Brad, First off I am sorry for the delay in response. In regards to your question I have seen customers run into this from time to time. I suggest the Admin sets up the machine and runs though their validation steps to confirm Office in working and functional. Then follow up that process with running the olicensecleanup.vbs from my Blog This will reset the activation state of Office. Therefore when the new user opens office it will sign in with their credentials and not be in a activated or broken state. Please follow up with any questions or concerns.876Views0likes0Comments
