O365 tenant migration
Hey Everyone, I am trying to come up with the right plan to do a full O365 Tenant migration in our organization. So far I was exploring a lot of articles etc. how to plan this quiet a large task in our organization. Currently we are limited on resources is well etc. so all the work needs to be done plainly by us. Today I was reading this article which clearly explain the steps that you should take to migrate all users in one go to the new tenant however it looks like there is a downtime in this process. Obviously I do not expect that this type of task can be done without any downtime but lets come down to my questions. First I will describe quickly our environment. We have a US site and also EU site. We also have Skype For Business on-prem and there is a one-way trust setup between our domains. Do not ask me why it was set up this way - it has been done before I have join the team. On our current tenant we have two domains setup - one is our main domain and the other is the new domain that we will use across the company. For the purpose of description lets call: - contosoA.com - US site - contosoB.com - EU site These two domains are setup in our current tenant in EU - lets call it: - tenantA We have about 1000 users in EU and about 300 in US. We are running Exchange-Hybrid environment is well. About 400 users are migrated to O365 in EU. My problem is that because two domains are taken already by "tenantA" I cannot move the main domain to the new tenant which is "tenantB" and domain "contosoB.com". I was thinking if we can use some sort of SMTP relay function so we will be able to migrate user to the "tenantB", however leaving the smtp setup on "tenantA" and saying that: mailto:user@contosoA.com any email will be forwarded to mailto:user@contosoB.onmicrosoft.com After we will migrate all the users etc. I will reset all the user records on old "current" tenant to onmicrosoft.com and then I will be able to verify the domain on the new tenant. Hello Everyone, I am facing a little problem now. We are thinking to implement MFA to login in to our servers on-prem from internal network. Obviously we can use some third party tools such us DUO or AD Professional Plus. However from what I can see there is a possibility to use RD Gateway with NPS that will have MFA plugin on it. I just need to understand something correctly - am I right saying that I can handle all RDP traffic to all the servers through RD Gateway that will be redirecting authentication through NPS to Azure MFA or it is no go? sramadugu This is true, DSC has a larger library of modules however you can call DSC on Ansible is well. I don't mind to craft some new scripts myself - the fundamental question is which solution will be better to adopt not only for Azure but also for on-prem? Should I consider using two? One for Azure such as DSC and Ansible on-prem or just go with one or the other?Azure Powershell DSC vs Ansible
Hey Guys, I just want to find out what are you using for Desired State Configuration on Azure. Do you use built in Powershell DSC or you are using Ansible with DSC enabled for Windows Machines? I am in the process of deciding which solution should the best for us. Also I would like to automate on-prem infrastructure. Which solution do you use? dabo7667 I have found the issue and Microsoft is looking currently on this case. To get the Data Discovery blade working again as it should, when you query the the particular File Share you have to modify the query. dabo7667 I am still chasing them t fix this. They suppouse to send the ticket to LogAnalytics team which did not contact me at all anyway. I have already tried to re-setup everything from scratch. I have built new Log Analytics workspace, I have configured new servers with AIP Scanner on them. I configured Profiles etc. Scanner Servers are visible in AIP Management Portal in Azure however they are not showing the list of files that have been discovered. I can only see the amount of files that have been discovered but that's it. Whenever I will try to display the list of files that have been discovered in the particular file share, I am getting info that there is not data to display.Re: Azure AIP - No data displayed in the Data Discovery (preview) tab
dabo7667it seems there is a world wide issue. I have open two tickets with Microsoft. Support is not responding to me at all. The first ticket was just closed. They were speaking to me over the phone and suddenly said it that they will take a look at it and they just say - Have a nice day - and just hangup on me. Second ticket is still open and they are not responding to it at all - I have followed up few times with no luck. I will create another ticket and eventually go to our Business Relationship Manager as we spend quiet a lot on Azure and the recent support we got was really really bad experience.SQL Server 2016 crashes
Hey Guys, I am facing really weird issue with MS SQL 2016 crashes. Every so often there is a crash dump generated: SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 105 generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. SQL Server is terminating this process. This information is very vague so you cannot really determine what is the cause of it. I was playing with the dump file a bit An I got into the module that is causing the crash: ntdll!NtWaitForSingleObject+0x14: 00007ffb`d5255ac4 c3 ret SQL is working the cluster with 4 nodes. Two nodes are in one site and two other nodes are in the second site. Network is working fine. There are no error logs inside the system event viewer or Failover Cluster operational logs. I have noticed that we are running on older version of ODBC drivers which is 17.3.1.1 and the newest one is 17.4.2.1. Do you think this might be related? Regards, WojciechAzure AIP - Data Discovery
Hey Guys, Does Data Discovery section in AIP Management portal only holds maximum of 31 days of data? When I try to display a report from each configured repository I am getting"No data to display" however I can see that there is over 3000 files detected? HeyAseem Nayar You can also deploy a VDI Management Portal - which currently can only be configured as an App Service. From what I know Microsoft team is working currently to create a new management portal that will be available from the Azure Portal. Currently I am administering 3 deployments of VDI in Azure and unfortunately for now you can only add single users which has to be synced in your AAD. If you would like to add multiple users I can share a script with you that it will do this for you. You just have to fill CSV file with Username, AppGroup and HostPool column and then script will add all the users to the specific AppGroup for you automaticly. Currently there are two licensing models. One that is using CAL licensing and the other that is using M365 License or E5 Lisence if you have Windows 10 Enterprise. Hey Everyone. I am experiencing a weird issue on the portal. I had an Azure AIP Scanner deployed and running in Azure and on-prem. I was able to view found files in the portal however currently I can see that X amount of files have been discovered but when I go to the share to see what are the files exactly I am getting nothing shown on the screen: "No data to display"? Hey wtms, It is working perfect. I am amazed of the sound quality. There is practiclly no delay in the conversation. On the tenent level you will have to run the following commands to redirect the voice and possibly camera if you want to the end user host: 1. Connect to the VDI: Add-RdsAccount -DeploymentUrl "https://rdbroker.wvd.microsoft.com" 2. Hello Everyone, I am looking for any tips that will allow me to install and use Teams and Skype for Business on Azure Windows Virtual Desktop? Is this available?
