Here is a LinkedIn post from mhance (I'm guessing we'll see similar from Barhead and Sylogist): Exciting news from mhance! We're proud to share the latest developments in our Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions for the Nonprofit sector. Since 2011, we've been at the forefront of innovation, working closely with the Microsoft for Nonprofits Tech for Social Impact team since its inception, and our journey continues with a strategic roadmap that promises even more robust and user-friendly solutions. As Microsoft evolves its offerings, we're thrilled to announce that mhance has been selected as one of just three partners with existing transition solutions for Fundraising & Engagement, such as the mhance Nonprofit Stack. This means we'll continue to support and enhance these solutions well beyond their original end-of-life date. So, wherever you are on your journey with Fundraising & Engagement and whether you are an mhance customer or not, get in touch with us so we can discuss with you our plans to support this solution now and into the future. Our commitment to empowering nonprofits with the best tools remains unwavering. ...and Google's response: Google for Nonprofits to expand to 100+ new countries and launch 10+ new no-cost AI features Google for Nonprofits will be expanding to 100 more countries and is introducing new Workspace for Nonprofits and Ad Grants features free of charge to support nonprofits in furthering their missions.Suggestions for improving the nonprofit grants and discount program
Over the last few years, a number of changes to the grants and discount program have taken a bit of the shine off the program (removal of Dynamics 365 Sales grants, Business Premium, Power BI Premium, retirement of Fundraising and Engagement). I wanted to offer some suggestions based on feedback from nonprofits and partners on small changes that could make an improvement to the program. Allow all nonprofit staff (including contracted staff) and volunteers to use grant offers (i.e. allowing nonprofits to assign granted Business Basic licences to volunteers) Increase the Microsoft 365 Copilot discount - many nonprofits still find the discounted cost prohibitively high Replace the 10 free 'Power Apps per app' with 10 free 'Power Apps Premium' - encouraging nonprofits to use the Power Platform more. Broaden your eligibility criteria to include Social Enterprises such as Community Interest Companies in the UK, Social Traders in Australia, etc Provide nonprofit staff and volunteers with free certification exams for foundational level topics (Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, etc) Let's make the program a leader in the sector again, especially for the smaller, resource-constrained nonprofits that do so much good. Thanks MattLinkedIn group: Microsoft tech for Australian & New Zealand NFPs
To support not-for-profit (NFP) users at a local level, we have started a LinkedIn group: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/14633550/ This is for end users, IT pros and accidental IT experts who use, develop and administer Microsoft applications in not-for-profit and charity organisations located in Australia or New Zealand. Join to share news, announcements, events and jobs about Microsoft technology for Australian and New Zealand not-for-profits and charities. Including Dynamics 365, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), Copilot, and Microsoft 365. (This is a community led group and is not officially supported or affiliated with Microsoft or Microsoft's Tech for Social Impact program.)49Views1like1CommentRe: ANNOUNCEMENT: Microsoft 365 Business Premium & Office 365 E1 grant discontinuation
Hi Leslie_Robbins and the TSI team Can you please confirm the minimum number of paid seats that are required for a nonprofit to enter into an Enterprise Agreement (EA) in order to get the larger number of free Office 365 E1 grant? I've seen 250 seats quoted by a CSP and a nonprofit was advised 500 seats by a Partner. Hoping for some clarity on this. Thanks MattRe: Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant is being discontinued
erinyaakvalley, glad you've found it helpful. I think StewC is correct - unfortunately switching to Annual won't change the renewal date. Since you're only using the email service and not desktop apps, the free Business Basic licenses will suit your needs. Here's some instructions for switching: https://aka.ms/CustomerGuideFromBPtoBBRe: Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant is being discontinued
Hi Tatsuro_ They are only discontinuing the 10 free licenses. The discounted US$5.50/user/month sku will remain as will all other discounts. Before the expiry date of your grant subscription, you will need to swap users over to another licence type (that can be the discounted Business Premium license). Thanks MattMicrosoft 365 Business Premium grant is being discontinued
UPDATED: Microsoft sent affected nonprofit organisations an email similar to the below on Wednesday/Thursday 14/15th May announcing that Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant is being discontinued. A similar message was sent out regarding the end of the Office 365 E1 grant offer. Microsoft have provided the following further information: Partner FAQ: https://partner.microsoft.com/en-AU/asset/collection/microsoft-365-business-premium-and-office-365-e1-grant-discontinuation#/ Partner office hours: ANNOUNCEMENT: Microsoft 365 Business Premium & Office 365 E1 grant discontinuation | Microsoft Community Hub Blog: Transitioning from Microsoft 365 Business Premium to Business Basic: What Nonprofits Need to Know | Microsoft Community Hub A small Canadian-based nonprofit has set up a change.org petition asking Microsoft to reconsider the decision: https://www.change.org/p/urge-microsoft-to-continue-grant-program-for-nonprofits Information about the difference between Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard and Premium can be found here: Visual: https://m365maps.com/files/Microsoft-365-Business-All.htm Checklist: https://m365maps.com/matrix.htm#000111000000000000000SolvedRe: Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant is being discontinued
Although not a free product Business Standard is available for about half the cost of Business Premium (AU$4.50 vs AU$8.10 per user). This includes desktop apps but not the additional security features of Business Premium. We've also lost Power BI Premium (with no discount for Fabric). While the program is supporting more organisations (they wanted to double the number from 300,000 to 600,000 organisations), the grants/free items are being steadily chipped away. Only the 15% Copilot discount has been added in the past few years. Imagine if they increased or added grant items instead!Re: Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant is being discontinued
ben_t From Microsoft's FAQ: "The Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant offer will be discontinued for customers on their next renewal after July 1, 2025. Licenses will expire at the customer’s next renewal date on or after this date. For instance, if a customer has a renewal date in October 2025, they can continue to use the grant without restrictions until then." You will only start paying after your renewal date. However, you will need to move users over to the paid licences before the free ones expire. It is sad, let's hope they change their decision. I'm also hoping they don't take away the free Power Apps licences! We have many customers using these. Although it seems like a free product gets taken away each year :(1.6KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant is being discontinued
This is the most engagement I have seen in the nonprofit discussion forum for 2+ years. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and how this will impact your nonprofits. It is a big blow to nonprofits worldwide, especially smaller organisations, and I am hoping that MSFT hear the voices from the community (Partners, employees, customers and the public) and reconsider the decision.2.4KViews7likes0CommentsRe: Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant is being discontinued
Hopefully they've heard the voices from impacted organisations and are reconsidering. Nearly 400 people have signed the petition so far: https://www.change.org/p/urge-microsoft-to-continue-grant-program-for-nonprofits1.6KViews2likes0Comments
