Microsoft 365 Copilot Business

Hi Elevate team

It was great to hear about the new Copilot licensing tier for SMBs, Microsoft 365 Copilot Business.

As this new pricing tier is lower than the current nonprofit discount (US$21/user/month compared to the 15% discount of US$25.50/user/month). I was wondering what the official guidance is for small and medium nonprofits (those who have a Microsoft 365 Business plan and fewer than 300 users)?

Will a new nonprofit discount be made available based on the lower tier? Or should small and medium nonprofits look at moving to the new SMB Business SKU?

Thanks
Matt

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot Business is tailored for small and mid-sized nonprofits and the pre-requisite for Copilot Business is Microsoft 365 Business suites (e.g. Business Basic, Business Standard and Business Premium). We encourage small and mid-sized nonprofits with Business plans to renew into Microsoft 365 Copilot Business, which is the right sized offer for smaller organizations. To drive SMB Nonprofit AI adoption, we’re also introducing a limited-time, introductory offer. From December 1, 2025 – March 31, 2026, Microsoft 365 Copilot Business is available for 15% off for up to 300 licenses ($18 pu/pm). At this point, nonprofit pricing is not available for Microsoft 365 Copilot Business and Business Bundles. Microsoft 365 Copilot Business can be added to nonprofit priced Business SKUs through authorized CSP partners as well as via Admin Center.

Hi Leslie_Robbins We currently have Copilot licenses with the non-profit discount and are interested in shifting to the Microsoft 365 Copilot Business SKU for new license purchases. I am unable to find this product in the admin center. All of our users have been assigned a Business Basic license to meet the pre-requisite requirements. Can you please provide instructions on where this license should appear / how to add it to our tenant via the admin center? Is this only possible to move into at time of renewal or can new licenses be purchased at any time?

It appears the reason you’re not seeing Microsoft 365 Copilot (Business) in the admin center is because your tenant is currently on legacy billing. To make this SKU available, you’ll need to move to New Commerce Experience (NCE).

Use the steps in this guide to transition and procure the license:

Once on NCE, the Copilot SKU should will appear and can be purchased without waiting for renewal.

        Hope this helps.
