Where is Teams meeting hosted?

Bronze Contributor

Hi all,

Old memory started to running in my head, and I found Tom Talk's article:

Where in the world will my Microsoft Teams meeting be hosted?

Where he wrote:

"Your Teams conference location is allocated at the time the first joiner joins (not the organiser, but any first joiner) and it is automatically allocated to the conferencing service in the region nearest to that first joiner."

Question is. is this still valid?

If this is still valid, them any thoughts how about the EU companies which are under the EU privacy regulations and all data should be kept inside EU boundaries. how much this behavior breaks this regulation rule? In case that you are in EU but invite person outside EU, and that person joins faster than you into that meeting.
