Teams Problem How to remove yourself as Guest from an organisation

Situation: Microsoft Teams free

Upper right corner: Exists two links

1) [Default selected] Privé and

2) [Optional] Copernicos Groep (Gast).

I have nothing to do with that company (organisation). They added me as a guest (to share some documents). However, it did not work out. That organisation is not willing to remove me as guest from there system. Every time I open teams I get the question to select this organisation. This is pretty anoying because I do not do any business with them.

How can I remove: 'Copernicos Groep (Gast)'?

This company 'Copernicos Groep' apparently a paid teams customer, refuses me to remove me from their settings. It should be possible to decide for myself to whom I want to talk or not.

Conrad225 - I think that the Admin of the Team that has added you as a guest is the only one that can remove you (or presumably the overall Admin Team).

I'd ask again and if they refuse, point out that in the EU, we have GDPR with the "right to be forgotten". If that doesn't work, report them! From the company name, presuming you are NL so start here (I think): https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl/nl

    Veel succes

      Hoi Allan,

You're right I'm in one of the 'low provinces' somewhere between the dunes and the border, seek and find the many red lights, these shining lights points out my location, ha! The mentioned company thinks probably I carry one of those, they should know better.

Thanks for you're advice (I haven't think of that (nog niet aan gedacht, goeie tip)!

I responded already for a second time, I'll wait for another day, see what happens!

Sorry for Microsoft, but I refuse to use Teams, as long as it can't be fixed! In that perspective Microsoft seems to facilitate 'curious' behavior of companies, trying to 'exclude' people, being part of this modern world. As you have stated; I do have the right to be forgotten.

ConradTheGrey - A final thought, and you may have tried this but, have you logged out of Teams (on all devices) and then logged back in. If they claim they have removed you it may just need a refresh and a log out/in may work?

Clearing the cache may help too: https://www.onmsft.com/how-to/how-to-clear-your-microsoft-teams-cache-on-windows-10

Both a long shot but you never know.

Hoi Chris, Unfortunately, no succes! Logged into web-app: 'myapplication.microsoft.com' > I do see 'all apps'. Right pane tells me I do NOT belong to any organization.

Note: I did see errors, Something under the hood went wrong > Needed to logout login it took a while again logout log in again both with microsoft account as well as myapps account (what a pain in the ***) > somehow a new browser window popped-up telling my: see picture (I'm not connected anymore to any organization, that's what I want). For security (maybe over the top), closed everything, restarted machine went back to myapp-environment (same picture no organization anymore) > reinstalled Teams app..... logged in with my windows (microsoft account)...it took minutes seeing many icon changes on screen with messages trying to switch to ... I don't  remember anymore what precisely was presented... Finally, Teams seems to finish installation... guess what? Still in the upper corner I do see the organization I'm not involved with anymore....

      Other suggestion are welcome?

Note I removed Teams before I even have started following your advice

Note. I only could remove Teams, there is NO extra Teams Machine-Wide Installer app

After restarting machine (second time) > Reinstalling Teams 64x version (never was another version installed)

ConradTheGrey Hi, may we know if you're experiencing this issue when using an InPrivate / Incognito browser session as well. Go here with a window like that https://teams.microsoft.com

It would make things easier to understand if it's only happening in your desktop app.

Odd to hear that the org. did not want to remove you. You can't leave an org. if the account is disabled in the org. tenant. But from what I can tell you're not belonging to any organizations per your description.
