External sharing recommendations?
Our Teams environment is fairly restrictive when it comes to external sharing. We do not permit OneDrive external sharing, and Teams sharing is disabled except for guest accounts that IT creates. That has become a bit of a pain when we need to provide access to external entities that might need just a one-time access for files. Creating a guest account for a one-time/short-term use takes time and seems administratively cumbersome. Anyone have any suggestions for these sort of needs?
Schedule daily recurring messages in Teams chat channels
This is my first post on this site! How do I set up a recurring message in a Teams chat channel? I want to remind my team daily at a specific time to put their project stand up status into our project channel. I'm assuming this would be a bot? If so, how can I find the bot? Copy time and users name when copy paste conversation.
As far as I can se this was removed due to the fact that some people copy paste code directly into production system where time and usernames caused problems. However in the normal world it not to uncommon to quote, even between organisations or even mail. And then you REALLY REALLY need to have time and user name. This was also what was default until recently, and currently everyone is sending screenshots, something that ofcourse is not a good solution. In order to make everyone happy, make an option in settings to not copy username/time and make it unset as default, those who need it will find it for sure, the rest will get the expected "what you mark is what you copy" behavior.
Autofilter Channel Posts
We manage a variety of digital products for a large user base across many different countries and want to curate our comms to limit irrelevant posts reaching users unnecessarily. For example a post about "Product A affecting Country X" should not reach "Country Y". What is the best practice here? Currently we've opted for a central channel with tags to assist users in managing their notifications, but they will still see all posts when visiting the channel and will need to self-filter. Is there a way for us to configure the channel so they only see posts they are tagged in? I know we could set up individual channels for each Product+Country combination but then any common posts we make would need to be duplicated into each channel separately. Thinking out loud, I suppose if we automate our posts with a workflow/AI then discrete channels is a good solution to keep things organised. Any ideas or feedback please?Is it possible to open up Teams for a dynamic group?
When I set up an intranet for our companies in SharePoint alone, I always create them as a Team site (we have over 200 companies in one tenant). In SharePoint I use dynamic groups "All-Users-Company" so users in each company have access by default. BUT... when they open Teams, they can't see their company's team unless they're added as a member of the site. I would love if Teams would "see/add" users from a dynamic group in SharePoint so they automatically have access to their own Teams site as well - is this possible? 💫🤗💫💫💫Whats the best Practise for on-call duty via teams external calling?
Hey community, I'm a bit in a struggle when setting up our Teams Operator Connect Phone system. We have an Auto attendence which is offering different menus (Press 1..., etc) We're planning on setting up a twentyfour x seven on-call duty where customers can call and are getting redirected to the mobile phones of our technician. I saw the option to forward to one number, but there isn't an option to forward to multiple numbers. How do you guys solve such a scenario, where you have to wake up colleagues mid night? We are changing shifts weekly, always 2 guys, sometimes 3 ppl. on shift. Thank in advance, Schnittlauch
Removing Teams from a Specific User Profile via Script in Intune
Hi, Working on a process with using PowerShell to remove Microsoft Teams from a specific user that is not the primary user of that computer on multiple Windows 11 devices using Microsoft Intune. Teams, SharePoint, Viva Engage - which to use for dept comms?
I lead a 300‑person department, and I’m looking for guidance on the best Microsoft tool(s) to improve employee engagement and awareness across our organization. Right now, most of our communication happens in Microsoft Teams (channel posts, group chats), but we have dozens of channels and each group has its own space, which makes it hard to share department‑wide news, cascade annual strategic initiatives, report monthly progress, and celebrate wins or employee recognition. We don’t currently have any SharePoint sites built out, and we’re not using Viva Engage or communities. For those who’ve tackled similar challenges: Which Microsoft tools or combinations have worked best for broad communication, engagement, and consistent messaging across a large department? I’d love to hear what’s been effective for you. Thanks in advance for any insights!
