1031 TopicsMeeting Agenda permissions sometimes wok
Once a week or so I create a number of internal Teams meetings generally with the same handful of individuals. Before I send it, I add a few agenda items. Unfortunately, at least half of the time, I am the only one with permissions (come meeting time someone may point it out). Having to go through, reopen each meeting, go through Shared Locations to open the loop's web page, clicking on Share, then Loop Component, then Settings, then People you choose, and then reentering the same attendees is very time consuming. I believe I am creating the meetings the same way each time, but I can't figure out why permissions are set sometimes and not others. Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas other than a reoccurring meeting?318Views1like3CommentsSecuring Microsoft Teams Best Practice & Cleanup
Working on a Teams environment that is fully wide open. They have seen a huge number of Teams created and are looking to get it under control from here on out and clean up. Wanted some advice on what you recommend doing and if you have the instructions to complete those tasks. My thoughts would be Block Team creation where IT would need to be involved. I believe this could be accomplished by blocking M365 Group creation. Way to expire or archive old Teams with no activity in X amount of time? Also, how are you handling guest invitations or access? Doing anything that allows but might secure things better for the organization. Thanks all.168Views0likes4CommentsTeam call handling - option to redirect calls if there is no answer
Dear Community To prevent calls from being dropped when the Teams client is offline, we have set the global calling policy 'Voicemail for inbound calls' to 'On' (AllowVoicemail: AlwaysEnabled in PowerShell CsTeamsCallingPolicy). With this setting enabled, incoming calls to users who are not logged in to a client are forwarded to their voicemail. Until recently (1-2 month?) users had the option to set the rule "When you can't answer a call" and "Ring for this many seconds before redirecting" in the Teams client. Now, only the 'Ring for this many seconds before redirecting' option is shown, and sometimes even that setting is unavailable. We cannot rule out an issue with the Teams client; however, resetting the app does not help at the moment. Reversing the entry on the calling policy 'Voicemail for inbound calls' to 'Let users decide' does solve the issue in the Teams client. However, depending on the user's configuration, calls may be dropped if the user is offline. According to Microsoft's documentation, this is an expected behaviour; however, the user should not be able to change the redirection time (fixed to thirty seconds). https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoftteams/set-csteamscallingpolicy -AllowVoicemail Enables inbound calls to be routed to voicemail. Valid options are: AlwaysEnabled: Calls are always forwarded to voicemail on unanswered after ringing for thirty seconds, regardless of the unanswered call forward setting for the user. AlwaysDisabled: Calls are never routed to voicemail, regardless of the call forward or unanswered settings for the user. Voicemail isn't available as a call forwarding or unanswered setting in Teams. UserOverride: Calls are forwarded to voicemail based on the call forwarding and/or unanswered settings for the user. What is the recommended policy setting for 'Voicemail for inbound calls' and how can we ensure that incoming calls are transferred to voicemail when the user is offline, while still enabling them to set 'When you can't answer a call'? Many thanks.99Views0likes1CommentChannel hidden by default. How to change?
Hello, when I create channels in a Team or a org team (Im the admin) The default way a user sees these are hidden. Even sometimes when the open the team it still wont unhide until they pin it. I know there was discussion previously (about 2017) of implementing a feature to allow parents to access Teams Assignments, but I haven't seen any updates on this. I have seen that an email digest can be set up but this isn't a great approach for many of our parents as they would prefer to be able to see upcoming assignments at their own convenience. From a teaching perspective, I would prefer to be able to identify which assignments I want to inform parents about (homework and assessments, rather than every class assignment). Does anyone know if there's a way to allocate specific assignments to a calendar and then share that calendar with parents?22Views0likes0CommentsNew Teams Version Approvals Not In Channels
In the latest version you can no longer request an approval in a channel. Instead you need to go to the Approvals section in the side bar, then you can make a general approval request. Is it going to be added back into discussion channels at some point? The current button for Approvals in the channel + button just brings up a search bar that doesn't seem to work.279Views2likes3CommentsIssues with new Teams of Mac
Hi there, I have been having login issues with New Teams and it is causing a great deal of stress. After having New Teams, I am unable to login with my work account. When I start up New Teams, login screen would come up with three different accounts (two personal and one work, as I was unable to login with work account). When I select work account, a pop up window would show as if its logging in, but after few seconds, it would take me back to the login screen with three different accounts. However, I am able to login to Teams with me personal accounts. Tried selecting new login and enter my work account has shown same result. After tested different logins, I believe its Teams cache that is causing the problem. - I've also tested on different computer accounts on the same mac that is having the issue with newly downloaded teams. It login in with no problem. (No problem with the OS or teams version) - I've login in on Teams on my iPhone with no problem. (No problem with the account) - Login in on Teams on browser with no problem. (No problem with the account) However, I've tested below ways (Done what was on other threads) to delete its cache and login credentials but the login still has three different accounts shown and it does not solve the issue. 1. Fully close Microsoft Teams. 2. Move or delete (if you're really confident): /Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Microsoft 3. In Finder, locate Teams New, right click and move to Trash 4. Using Spotlight Search (accessed by clicking the magnifying glass on the macOS menu bar), enter “Keychain” and select Keychain Access. Search for Microsoft Teams keys in keychain. Within Keychain, search for keywords that contain “Microsoft", "Teams” to find the Teams Identities Cache entry. Right click this item and select the delete option, then close the Keychain Access app. 5. Most instructions stop here and say Relaunch Microsoft Teams. I found an additional series of locations to clean up 5a. Go to /Users/{username}/Library/Containers, there will be a handful of Microsoft Teams related directories like: com.microsoft.teams2 I had to give Terminal full access to disk to remove these directories 5b. Go to /Users/{username}/Library/Group Containers/ search for anything related to Microsoft Teams and remove them as well 6. One final check of the Activity Monitor, you may find it reporting some process running with the process name: com.microsoft.teams2.* Quit those processes Would appreciate any sort of help or advises.9.3KViews1like6CommentsImproving Cross-Platform AI Computer Integration Experience
Hello Microsoft Tech Community, As AI continues to evolve, the integration of AI capabilities into various devices has become increasingly important. However, many users still encounter challenges when attempting to utilize AI features across different platforms. For instance, transferring AI-generated content from a desktop to a mobile device often requires manual intervention, disrupting the seamless experience that users expect. To address this, I propose the development of a unified synchronization system that allowshttps://www.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovoauraedition/ to seamlessly share data and functionalities across devices. This system would enable users to start a task on one device and continue it effortlessly on another, maintaining context and continuity. Such integration would not only enhance user experience but also foster a more cohesive ecosystem, aligning with the goals of platforms like the Microsoft Tech Community. Implementing this feature would require collaboration between developers, designers, and platform providers to ensure compatibility and user-friendly interfaces. By leveraging cloud services and robust APIs, we can create a solution that meets the diverse needs of users while promoting innovation and accessibility.35Views0likes0CommentsMusic Status change based on Spotify/YouTube Music etc.
Is there anything about changing Microsoft Teams' status to "Listening to X" based on what we are currently listening to on Spotify or YouTube Music etc ? Or is there any development about this currently? It would be cool like back in old MSN days 😄36KViews3likes7CommentsBetter way to view employees' schedules?
Howdy, y'all. I've just been hired into a new office, and as the only member of Gen Z to be employed, I've been summarily appointed to the media committee, which includes thinking through the ways that we communicate with one another effectively. The issue that's driving me up a wall at the moment is our calendar management. We have an Excel sheet saved as a tab within one of our Teams channels that lists every employee's status in the office for every day of the year. This is helpful for a couple of reasons: We work in healthcare and must have one person on-call at all times. There are two on-call shifts per day; one from 8 AM to 8 PM, and one from 8 PM to 8 AM. There must be a minimum number of staff people working during regular weekdays (that is, aside from the on-call staffer, we must also be able to see that there are at least a couple people aside from the on-call person who are in the office during a regular week, so that the office isn't completely empty around Christmas and so on). For this, we usually look at the row for the day of the month and the column for the employee's name, with the intersecting cell being filled in with the time of their shift. In addition to the two on-call shifts per day, one person will be designated as "substitute" for one 24-hour period. If either the AM or PM on-call person call out, the substitute will clock in to replace them. Further, there is a staffer who is designated as the support member for an entire week's time. Should the on-call person have questions or concerns, the support member will be able to answer their call at any time during the week. We typically have it color-coded so we know by taking a glance at the day who is on AM, who is on PM, who is substituting, and who is backup. This is an example: Staff A Staff B Staff C Staff D Staff E Staff F Staff G Friday 8/1 8a-8p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p 8p-8a 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p Saturday 8/2 OFF 8a-8p 8p-8a OFF OFF OFF OFF Sunday 8/3 8p-8a OFF OFF 8a-8p OFF OFF OFF Monday 8/4 OFF 8p-8a 8a-4:30p OFF 8a-8p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p Tuesday 8/5 8a-8p OFF OFF 8p-8a 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p Wednesday 8/6 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p 8p-8a OFF 8a-8p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p KEY: AM on-call PM on-call Substitute Support Obviously, this way of keeping track of things is archaic and has led to chaos. Is there a better way somewhere in Teams/Outlook/SharePoint calendar, or in some other application that can connect to this workspace? We run basically everything in our department out of Teams100Views0likes1Comment
