There could be lot of different reasons but most common know to be : Recovery partition issue or services not running.

Here is the reference video you can watch and fix your update windows 10 0x80070643:

Pause the update or roll back to the previous version. Then wait for next major update.

I had the same issue regarding the update error (0x80070643), and managed to get the issue fixed by following these steps from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5028997-instructions-to-manually-resize-your-partition-to-install-the-winre-update-400faa27-9343-461c-ada9-24c8229763bf

JohanLeo I tried nonstop to increase the partition, but it still fails. Unsure why - but I think it's the ORDER (place) in which the WinRE partition lives.

The instructions do not work for all.

I'm worried if I do any more, I'll damage my drive map/boot record.

        Hi everyone.
I am having exactly the same issue than You.
The positions are different for me on the first disk.
Partition 1 is Recovery and partition 2 is system and Partition 3 is the rest of the disk. I am able to touch only the 3rd one to make free space, but when I follow the guidelines to increase the partition size, I am not able to create a new partition that inclue the new available space, as they are not next to each other, as I understand.
I am now in May and the problem is still here. Does anyone is still having the same issue than me ?
(sorry for my crappy English, I am coming from France and I am fare to be billingual)

Yes, this is a workaround but there is a risk of data lost if there is a mistake , so it is recommended to backup data before following this method. In addition, Microsoft is working on a fix and hopefully there would be easier solution in the future.

In case you observe this error for KB5034441 update and you will see update failures for this update, then it is known issue.
    Have a look at:

If I interpret correctly, the attack vector must be physical contact with the computer - remote violation is not possible?

Correct, explanation of Physical is "The attack requires the attacker to physically touch or manipulate the vulnerable component. Physical interaction may be brief or persistent." , it is still important and hopeful a solution will be available soon.

Hi. it's a bit complicated I'm ignoring this error for now, it applies to Windows10 computers.

    Check it out:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/kb5034441-windows-recovery-environment-update-for-windows-10-version-21h2-and-22h2-january-9-2024-62c04204-aaa5-4fee-a02a-2fdea17075a8

I would like to add that trying to fix it yourself is a waste of time in this case.

    Hi nojoke0310,

this is a common issue during updates, and here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Windows Update Troubleshooter:
Microsoft provides a step-by-step guide to fix problems during updates.
Windows Update Troubleshooter - Microsoft Support

    2. Clear Windows Update cache:

      • Stop Background Intelligent Transfer Service and Windows Update in the Services menu.
      • Navigate to C:\\Windows\\SoftwareDistribution\\Download in File Explorer and delete its contents.
    3. Run DISM and SFC commands:
Open Command Prompt (CMD) as an administrator and enter these commands:

      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
      • sfc /scannow
    4. Re-download the update file:
Delete the original files and download them again.
