Purview Compliance Centre Licencing
Hello, I am looking at options for Records Management in SharePoint utilizing either E3 or E5 for the Compliance Centre functionality. Would anyone know how it needs to be licensed? We have about 100 employees but only about 40 are office staff and the rest are field workers. Do all 100 users need either an e3 or e5 licence, just the 40 office staff, or is there a different option? Right now we mostly have Business Standard licences and am trying to get a better understanding of the limitations and also how many users would need to upgrade.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
- Nobody here is authorized to quote licensing terms on behalf of Microsoft, so the best thing to do is consult the official documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/microsoft-365-service-descriptions/microsoft-365-tenantlevel-services-licensing-guidance/microsoft-365-security-compliance-licensing-guidance
The general rule would be that all members/owners of a given site/group where records are located will have to be licensed, as well as any users managing the records.
