Capacity Planning issue

Hi,

I am facing an issue when trying to change the Capacity Planning date range. When I try to select the date range it the Capacity Planning, it is throwing me an error (shown below).

I have set the Resource Capacity Settings as 14 Months behind and 12 months ahead in the PWA server setting. In the backend I checked in the pjrep.MSP_EpmResourceByDay table, and it is showing date from 1st October'16 till 31st May'21. Ideally it should show 1st April'20 till 1st June'22 as of the currrent date. Can anybody help?

Regards,

Amit Wairkar

I had logged a call with Microsoft. The below steps helped me resolve the issue:

    1. PWA Change the capacity planning ahead of 6 months and 4 months before.
    2. Go to the production APP site setting -> Site collection features
    3. Disable the Project webapp and setting site collection feature of the PWA and then again enable it
    4. Ran the following command to check the provisioning state of the PWA get-spprojectwebinstances
    5. The main PWA provisioning state should be online now.
    6. After That run the project resource planning sync timer job by going to the Central Admin->Monitoring->Job definition
    7. Check the  resource planning sync job in PWA queue job ,
    8. Cancel all the failed and blocked jobs.
    9. Then wait for some time to let this resource planning sync job to success.

  • Hi AmitWairkar1 ,

Regarding the data in the resource table, this will be updated either when the resource is edited in the enterprise resource pool or with the resource capacity sync job that runs once a day.

Paul - I tried manually the Resource capacity sync on the Central Admin. But yet no change. Hope the overnight job does the magic. Is there any step involved in updating the resource capacity?
  • Amit -- You forgot to include the screenshot of the error. It would help if we knew what error you are seeing. Please update and let us know.

Dale_HowardMVP I am not receiving any error as such. I am able to save all settings but the data is not getting updated.
