Users receiving Teams Notifications for other people's meetings
Hello!
Has anyone encountered this before - some users are receiving Teams notifications for meetings they are not invited to.
So User 1 creates a Teams meeting with User 2.
User 3 is receiving Teams notification about this meeting.
All 2 users are in the same department so I wonder if this is linked somehow to a group they may all be part of?
TIA!
Yes, this can happen and is usually linked to how Teams and Outlook manage group and calendar permissions. If User 3 is part of a Microsoft 365 group, shared mailbox, or a Teams channel where the meeting was created, they may receive notifications even if they aren’t directly invited. It can also occur if User 3 has delegate access to another user's calendar. Sometimes, it's just a sync or notification bug. It’s best to check group memberships, calendar permissions, and where the meeting was created to confirm.
