New Teams Files Bugs

I use an SP List Formatting action to open a document's properties panel. I've used it for years in Teams without any issues. But it's broken in New Teams default Files tab. It works in Classic Teams, in SharePoint Online, in teams.microsoft.com, and in SharePoint Online app tabs in Teams.

"customRowAction": {"action": "editProps"}

Click the SP action link to open the document properties panel in Team 1, all works as expected:

Navigate to a second Team and open the panel. You get a 404/not found because it's passing Team 2's file ID but showing Team 1's form, and the ID doesn't exist in Team 1. But reload the 'Files' tab...

...and the form works correctly for Team 2. Go back to Team 1 though, and get a 404. It's displaying the form for the prior Team and you have to reload the Files tab each and every time to get the correct form for the Team you're in:

We have 12 Teams users jump between. Most times the same file ID exists in a different doc library so they don't get a 404 in the panel, they get form and data for a different file in a different library -- that means if they save changes, they're making changes to the wrong file because they're interacting with the wrong form!!!

  • Bjorn Foster interesting one do you have it on multiple tenants or just one? Else you could create a ticket for this. Seems there is a hickup in the loading.

      Thanks Paul. I have just the one tenant and opened a ticket for both issues.

        Therese_Solimeno do you have any advice on finding someone at MSFT to direct this to? Another user reported the same bug last year and I saw your comment there. I've opened a support ticket, given feedback within the Teams app like you suggested, even opened a ticket on GitHub since I'm using SP Formatting actions. I have reproduced the bug in a second tenant and would be thrilled for someone on the Teams team to even acknowledge the problem. We have 12 Teams, and are telling users to click 'Reload' on the Files tab whenever they jump between between Teams and want to edit document properties. That's a terrible user experience, especially when we're trying to move people onto Teams for their document management needs. Thanks.
