Microsoft Teams access to chat and recording
We use office365 in our organisation and often send teams meetings through outlook. Someone has forwarded our invite to a group of people that should not be invited to the meeting or have access to the Teams call/chat. How do I remove them from accessing the recording or chat without restricting other people?

welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Recep I'll be happy to help you today.
I understand that someone forwarded your invite to a group of people that should not be invited to the meeting and now you want to restrict them from accessing the recording or chat without restricting other people? Please note that generally, the team meeting recording is stored on the SharePoint site, and all site members can view these recordings by default. If you only want specific users can view these recordings, please try the following steps:
1. Go to site> Documents> General
2. If you want to apply the change to all recordings, you need to edit the permission of the Recordings folder. If you want to apply the change to a specific recording, you need to edit the permission of the recording.
3. Select the Recording folder or the recording, click the three points, Manage access, Stop sharing, remove the existing sharing, only site owners will still have permission, then add users/group again.
Also to restrict them from accessing the chat, just remove them from the group. If I have answered your question, please mark your post as Solved

- rachel0hCopper ContributorThank you for your help! Can I restrict the people that can see the recording before it is due to record?

Thank you very much for your email response.
People invited to the meeting have permissions to the recording (guests and external attendees can view the recording only if it's explicitly shared with them). If I have answered your question, please mark your post as Solved

- beauteak4uCopper ContributorOnce, it didn't seem that long ago, I managed to figure things out. However, during that period of time there were many "SIGS" all over the United States. I will assume nothing now so forgive me if I sound like I'm talking down to all of you kind participants in these MS Forums. SIGS stood for Special Interests GroupS where whole generations of human beings young and old joined for a modest fee and met for monthly meetings where topics would be discussed and there was a period of time for people to ask questions in whatever way THAT THEY knew what they were saying.
More often than not there were others, often MANY others who would nod their heads in the yes gesture and the real TECHS who often worked in the TECH fields or even owned their own " COMPUTER STORE where people could buy or have their own computer fixed after doing something that rendered their PC inoperable.
I always looked forward to our Tuesday evening gatherings where there were always gifts for members who could answer a question correctly.
Those days are so long GONE that it feels like ANCIENT HISTORY to even talk about them; hence my comment about SIGS; most people never heard of them.
In any event, I read that you replied to my attempt at entering anything anywhere mostly because the pages have way TMI. It takes me hours if not days to figure out what I'm doing wrong and what I need to do to do it right.
I do not SEE a reply from you to me. I do see this new thing of asking people to "LIKE" YOU or YOUR ANSWER, REPLY< or, I hope you do not mind that an old trick I learned from the SIG: I copies and pasting your exact words that I am guessing "ADDS UP " to something that members want and like. Sadly, it doesn't explain anything to me; it just allows me to spend more time on this site which to the best of my knowledge MS KNOWS about EXACTLY and in a way buried in their explanations of POLICIES, PROCEDURES, PRIVACY, and SECURITY which, correct me if I am wrong, changes so frequently that with every update YOU MUST AGREE TO ALL NEW TERMS>
Doesn't those words scare anyone? The new agreement is 45 pages long so 99plus % of the people simple click OKAY! I wonder if you can wind up a member of The Puntin Party the moment that you click AGREE?
Just wondering out loud.
BTW It's been MONTHS since I tried to post a question about my passwords seemingly always being wrong and needing to click forgot password which forces me to change my password and, in another program, I was slicked into changing my username too.
Where do I go to ask about that? It happens way too often.
Much thanks, especially if you can point me in the right direction!- beauteak4uCopper ContributorOh, and one more thing that makes things THAT MUCH MORE DIFFICULT: I'm a disabled VET who has suddenly and unexpectedly started going BLIND. I'm going to try to take a picture of all of the apparatus that I must use to read virtually everything!

rachel0h just helping out with some more clarity.
Meeting recordings are generally saved to the OneDrive account of the person who starts the recording.. If it’s a “channel meeting”, it will be saved to that channel’s files (which are in SharePoint). It’s then automatically shared with the people in the meeting, giving them access to view it.
If you have an existing recording, you can open that file in OneDrive or SharePoint and manage the permissions for it, removing access for individuals.
