Issues with new Teams of Mac
Hi there,
I have been having login issues with New Teams and it is causing a great deal of stress.
After having New Teams, I am unable to login with my work account. When I start up New Teams, login screen would come up with three different accounts (two personal and one work, as I was unable to login with work account).
When I select work account, a pop up window would show as if its logging in, but after few seconds, it would take me back to the login screen with three different accounts.
However, I am able to login to Teams with me personal accounts.
Tried selecting new login and enter my work account has shown same result.
After tested different logins, I believe its Teams cache that is causing the problem.
- I've also tested on different computer accounts on the same mac that is having the issue with newly downloaded teams. It login in with no problem. (No problem with the OS or teams version)
- I've login in on Teams on my iPhone with no problem. (No problem with the account)
- Login in on Teams on browser with no problem. (No problem with the account)
However, I've tested below ways (Done what was on other threads) to delete its cache and login credentials but the login still has three different accounts shown and it does not solve the issue.
1. Fully close Microsoft Teams.
2. Move or delete (if you're really confident): /Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Microsoft
3. In Finder, locate Teams New, right click and move to Trash
4. Using Spotlight Search (accessed by clicking the magnifying glass on the macOS menu bar), enter “Keychain” and select Keychain Access. Search for Microsoft Teams keys in keychain. Within Keychain, search for keywords that contain “Microsoft", "Teams” to find the Teams Identities Cache entry. Right click this item and select the delete option, then close the Keychain Access app.
5. Most instructions stop here and say Relaunch Microsoft Teams. I found an additional series of locations to clean up
5a. Go to /Users/{username}/Library/Containers, there will be a handful of Microsoft Teams related directories like: com.microsoft.teams2
I had to give Terminal full access to disk to remove these directories
5b. Go to /Users/{username}/Library/Group Containers/ search for anything related to Microsoft Teams and remove them as well
6. One final check of the Activity Monitor, you may find it reporting some process running with the process name: com.microsoft.teams2.* Quit those processes
Would appreciate any sort of help or advises.

This also happened to me just now. Any solution for this? Also, I noticed that I can no longer receive notifications from other accounts beside the user session that I am currently on, unlike before where even I have multiple accounts signed in, I can receive notifications from all accounts.

Apologies for the inconvenience you might have experience while using this Microsoft 365 service. Thee issue you are experiencing is as a result of the credentials that have been previously cached on the device.
To clear Microsoft Teams credentials stored in the macOS Keychain, follow these steps:
Open Keychain Access:
- Go to the Utilities folder within the Applications directory.
- Launch Keychain Access.
Search for Teams Credentials:
- In the top-right corner of Keychain Access, use the search bar to look for “Teams.”
- This will filter the keychain items related to Microsoft Teams.
Delete the Relevant Items:
- Hold down the Shift key and click on the Microsoft Teams keychain items to select them.
- Right-click (or press Ctrl + Click) on the selected items and choose Delete.
Relaunch Microsoft Teams:
- After deleting the items, close Keychain Access.
- Restart Microsoft Teams and sign in again.
Remember to back up any important credentials before making changes! https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/remove-log-in-from-teams-on-a-mac/00ed74fa-412f-4db9-a8ed-66f7ebbc1414.

Thanks.- MunehiroMarkOhCopper ContributorThank you for your kind response.
As mentioned in my 4th point, I have deleted all the keychain that contained "Microsoft" and "Teams". The result was the same and those three accounts remained.

I understand your frustration with the login issues you're experiencing with the new Teams on your Mac. It sounds like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps based on other threads, but the problem persists.
Here are some additional things you can try:
1. Check for Updates:
- Make sure you have the latest version of Teams installed. Outdated versions might have bugs that have been fixed in newer releases. Open Teams, click on your profile picture in the top right corner, then go to "Settings" > "General" and check for updates.
2. Reset Teams:
- Try resetting Teams to its default settings. This will clear any corrupted cache or configuration files that might be causing the issue.
- Here's how to reset Teams:
- Completely close Teams.
- Open Finder and navigate to the following location:/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Microsoft
- Important: Move the entire "Microsoft" folder to your desktop (don't delete it). This way, you can revert if needed.
- Relaunch Teams.
- Here's how to reset Teams:
3. Reinstall Teams:
- If resetting Teams doesn't work, consider a clean reinstall.
- Here's how to reinstall Teams:
- Completely close Teams.
- Drag the Teams application icon from your Applications folder to the Trash.
- Empty the Trash.
- Download the latest version of Teams from the official Microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app
- Install the downloaded package.
- Here's how to reinstall Teams:
4. Contact Microsoft Support:
- If none of the above suggestions work, it might be best to reach out to Microsoft Support for further assistance. They can access more detailed logs and troubleshooting tools to identify the cause of the issue.
Additional Tips:
- Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall: In rare cases, antivirus software or firewalls might interfere with Teams login. Briefly disable them (following your security protocols) to see if it resolves the issue. Remember to re-enable them afterward.
- Check Network Connectivity: Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
I hope these additional suggestions help you resolve the login issue with Teams on your Mac. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

I've also had similar issues with new Teams. I also have classic teams installed and I am able to login to that app without issues and can also sign into the Web version of teams.

I just got rejected by teams classic, which stopped working. I tried the non-classic teams and it fails to launch. Completely. I see a menu for a few seconds and all dies. I deleted teams, reinstalled office from teh corporate server, deleted the /Library item, no hope.
