I've also had similar issues with new Teams. I also have classic teams installed and I am able to login to that app without issues and can also sign into the Web version of teams.
I just got rejected by teams classic, which stopped working. I tried the non-classic teams and it fails to launch. Completely. I see a menu for a few seconds and all dies. I deleted teams, reinstalled office from teh corporate server, deleted the /Library item, no hope.
