A best practice or process in which a member can request to add a guest to a team.
Hello there.
Does anyone knows of a way or method to streamline the process of inviting a guest user to team by a team or channel member? In our environment only team owners are the only who can add guest to a team so for a member who wants to invite a guest it appears they have to first reach out to owner and the owner will initiate the invite. It would be better if a member can at least initiate the invite and owner can approve or deny it quickly. I know one can always click on Add Member option and be done with it but that's not an option for our members here. Any suggestions, recommendations or even just point me to the right path and I can look it up--would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day!

Lotusmail1 Why wouldn't you make the users inviting guests into Owners? If they are being trusted to select external parties who will access your content, then you clearly trust them.
There two very helpful pages regarding this:
- Manage guest access with Azure AD guest access review: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/governance/manage-guest-access-with-access-reviews
- Authorize guest access in Microsoft Teams: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-dependencies
- Via Azure AD you can define who can invite and who cannot (admins-only, members, and even guests): https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-dependencies#control-guest-access-in-azure-active-directory
Mostly, to control the flow of invitations it makes sense to have not only a technical but also an organisational process in place. If everybody could invite this might pose a security risk because someone might invite people to Teams/O365 group without agreement of the team owner or the company.
We usually only allow team owners to invite guests. In most cases a team is used for project collaboration and a project is owned by the project manager so he/she decides who should join and other members should ask the project manager (team owner) for approval first.
