Office 365 Group Site Collection Admin
Making someone anhttps://support.office.com/en-US/article/Manage-Group-membership-in-the-Office-365-admin-center-e186d224-a324-4afa-8300-0e4fc0c3000a Owner will give them site collection administrators rights, while Group members have SharePoint Edit permissions. Is that what you mean? Is the question about how to manage this or some limitations?

Hi Cian,
almost, if you look at the SharePoint Site Collection admins the wohle group is assignend admin rights but only the owner have that right
Normally all user in that group have admin rights so there must be a backround query or anything else that only the owners have that right. Found no infos about that

Interesting find! One of the reasons, I guess, that the Site Collection Administrators link is no longer available on the Site Settings page :) (Of course it is still available through the Advanced Permissions Settings)
The Office type of groups has a seperate members and owners construct. My guess is that only the owners part is read by the Site Collection Administrators field. So it is not filtering, it is already just querying the owners of that group.
