Microsoft Places individual desk booking is not working

Hi,

Following the documentation, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/places/configure-desk-booking, I successfully ran the shared command lines without any errors. However, on Microsoft Places, I am unable to see individual desks appear; only desk pools are visible.

Has anyone managed to get this to work?

Thanks,

  • Is this issue resolved? I still can't see individual desk in places app to book then in Teams however I can see them via Calendar in Outlook or Teams and book them from there. Why would an end user go to places app for booking if they can see everything from the calendar.

Individual desk booking is coming to the app in the summer update, due in the next month or so.

Individual booking can be used via the Outlook on the web (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/places/configure-desk-booking), we see the building/floor/section and desk, we can select it but the save button remains inactive, any idea ? Thanks !

All of our users are enrolled in Teams Premium. While I can book an event (desk) in the Outlook calendar and that gets reflected in the Teams Places app... when i try to search for a room or desk in the Teams App nothing shows up. Has anyone ever got it working?

    Hi nhaddad777 !

To successfully manage the workplace, including desk booking, room booking and the policies required to implement various workplace strategies, you would be best to utilise a platform such as Nura Space (www.nuraspace.com), which is purpose built. These platforms also have Microsoft Teams apps and dedicated Smart Phone apps.

    Cheers,

  • In our original configuration of Places. we went down the route of configuring individual desks as Workspace resource mailboxes with a capacity of 1.

These work fine, both on the Places Finder and on the map. But new desk type objects don't display in Places app. I wondered if I'd missed some configuration, but now see on this thread that it isn't implemented yet.

We created two new desk entities:  One that is intended to be bookable which we have linked to a mailbox.  The other is non-bookable.

Interestingly, on the map view they show up as red blocks – but you can’t do anything with either of them:

Desk types don't appear for us either. Now it's clear it isn't implemented yet. I was wondering if I'd missed something in the setup.

The ‘bookable’ desk is not appearing in the list of available desks, but interestingly, on the map view they show up as red blocks – but you can’t do anything with either of them.

I have completely same experience. I have configured everything, from building, floor, section to desk. Have created 3 bookable desks, none of the desk is searchable anywhere.
I opened ticket with Microsoft - because according to the documentation this should be working.

    Hi,

I am having the same issue, I can see the individual desks when running:

    Get-PlaceV3 -Type Desk

This shows them with their associated mailboxes. However, they are not showing in the Places finder.

    Is this a known issue?

Use the new version of outlook if you are wanting to view and book individual desks, for desk pools you can use the places web app.

It doesn't make sense why they would push you to use Outlook for Individual desks, while this requires Teams Premium licensing.  This should be included in Teams and the web app before it is available in Outlook.
