Microsoft in Going to Rollout Double Key Encryption in Microsoft 365 Apps
Microsoft 365 Apps users now have the option to utilize Double Key Encryption (DKE) to safeguard their highly confidential information. By leveraging the integrated labeling client, files and emails can be protected with DKE. This approach involves storing one encryption key in Microsoft Azure while the user retains the other key. This ensures that only the user can decrypt the protected content, without any exceptions. Sensitivity labels configured with DKE in the Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal are now accessible for users of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. They can conveniently publish or access content that is safeguarded with DKE.
