May consider below:
- Switch to MAK Activation
If your product key is a Multiple Activation Key (MAK) rather than a KMS key, you can manually change the activation method:
- Open any Office app (e.g., Word).
- Go to File > Help > Change Product Key.
- Enter your saved product key.
- Restart the Office app and try activating again.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Run:
cscript "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" /act
If that fails, try:
cscript "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" /act
- If prompted, choose Phone Activation and follow the instructions.
- Check the Version Match
- Uninstall the current version.
- Reinstall the correct edition that matches your key. This might require finding a trusted source for the correct ISO or installer.
- Use Microsoft Support Channels
Even though Office 2010 is out of support, Microsoft may still assist with activation issues, especially if you have a valid key:
- Call Microsoft Support and request telephone activation.
- Explain your situation clearly, including the loss of the DVD but retention of the key.
