Customer Insights: default database capacity

Hello,

I would like to know if, in the context of the initial deployment of Dynamics 365 Sales or Customer Service with Customer Insights as an Attach, we indeed have a Dataverse database capacity of 25 GB included on the tenant.
The licensing guide explains that the default capacity is not cumulative; however, if the client simultaneously purchases their Sales / Service seats and Customer Insights, do they indeed have 25 GB and not 10 GB?
The guide specifies that the first base license for a Dynamics 365 product includes its default capacity.
The term 'first' is ambiguous; are we indeed looking at a maximum of 25 GB vs 10 GB = 25 GB?

A reference from Microsoft would be appreciated if possible.

I believe the customer would even get 35GB in total. You get 10GB as default capacity for Sales/Service, and you get 25GB as default capacity for CI. As it's a different product, you get the entitlement per product group.

I base it on this sentence: "Dataverse entitlements are only granted once per tenant, for the first Customer Insights Base or Attach SL.".

If you already have 10GB because of Sales/Service licenses, I'd assume you still get this 25GB entitlement granted once. As that's what it states.

Not 100% sure, so confirmation would be nice.

      Hi,

      Thanks.

I would like to clarify the 25 GB vs 10 GB issue first.

I'm not sure where you saw the notion of entitlement per product group. That's not the meaning I read in 'only granted once per tenant' 😃.

Well the sentence says "Dataverse entitlements are only granted once per tenant, for the first Customer Insights Base or Attach SL." It doesn't say anywhere that you won't get it if the customer already has different D365 products active.

So to me it seems the customer gets 10GB for the Sales part + 25GB for the CI part. As you get the 25GB for the first CI Base or Attach license regardless of the customer already having Sales active.

I've seen the same thing happen with customers having Sales and Finance. Customer got both default capacities.

Again, not 100% sure. Just giving my 2 cents ;)

      Was this ever resolved?
      According to the licencing guide;

The maximum included Tenant Storage is 25 GB.
Standard with the majority of the licences, they come with 10 GB (with the exception of: FP, SCMP & CI).

For example: A customer has purchased a single Sales Enterprise licence and recieves a standard database capacity of 10 GB for their Tenant. Shortly after CI is purchased which comes with a standard database capacity of 25 GB for their Tenant. The customer automatically asumes that these amounts are to be added together and reports this to their respective CSP provider.

Unfortunately, this does not mean (nor is this stated anywhere), that these amounts are to be added. It clearly states within the licencing guide (https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/guidance/Dynamics-365), "Included/Tenant Max".
