Booking not available for everyone
Dear Community,
We are currently experiencing an issue within our tenant related to the Microsoft Bookings App. While the app is enabled and accessible via browser for users in a specific group, some users are unable to add the app directly to their Teams interface without submitting a request.
At this point, we have not been able to identify the root cause of the issue. I might be a policy issues that only we can solve.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem or could suggest possible solution?
Thank you :)

Hello NishNa,
You might want to check out the Microsoft Teams App Setup policies or the App permissions policies in the Teams Admin portal. It could help to compare the settings for users who have it working—there might be a difference. I'd also suggest giving these steps a try if not yet done :
1- A - Review App Setup Policies (The Most Likely Culprit)
- In the Teams Admin Center (TAC), navigate to Teams apps → Setup policies.
- Identify the User's Policy: Determine which specific Setup Policy is applied to the affected users. Even if the Global policy is permissive, a custom policy can override it.
- Check App Allowance: Ensure that Microsoft Bookings is explicitly listed in the Allowed apps section of the policy applied to the failing users. A missing entry here often forces the "Request" flow.
- Compare Assignments: Verify that the working users and the failing users are assigned the exact same App Setup Policy. If they differ, the restrictive policy must be updated or re-assigned.
- Check User Pinning: Ensure the "User pinning" option is enabled if users are expected to be able to add the app themselves.
B - Review App Permission Policies:
Navigate to Teams apps → Permission policies and verify that the policy assigned to the affected users does not explicitly Block the Microsoft Bookings app.
2- Make sure to clear the cache of the client Teams on the affected users, by deleting the folders and files under this path: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
3- Try also to clear the register keysr related to TEAMS from the Registres Editors and clear the saved credentials from the Cedentials Manager related to Teams
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Right-click on the "Teams" folder (the key) and select Delete.
- Open Credential Manager → Windows Credentials. Delete any entries related to Microsoft Teams or Microsoft Office (e.g., MicrosoftTeams_adalsso)
4- Make sure and confirm that the users affected have the latest Teams version and compare with others users who don't have the issue.
Hope my answer helps you sort out the issue or at least points you toward what might be causing it. Good luck!
