Microsoft Teams support now available for Surface Hub
According to the Surface Hub Update History, the August 2018 cumulative updatebrings support for Microsoft Teams meetings on Surface Hub. I should note that I haven't yet tried this on a release build, so I don't know yet if the instructions for the Insider Preview build are the same, or if this even works fully (as there are no instructions yet in the admin guide). For those wanting to try, you will need to install the Microsoft Teams for Surface Hub (Preview) app from the Microsoft Store, and you'll also need to configure 2 SurfaceHub CSP settings (either via MDM or provisioning package): ./Vendor/MSFT/SurfaceHub/Properties/SurfaceHubMeetingMode Set to integer, values below: 0 - Skype for Business is the preferred app on the Surface Hub's Start Screen, however you can still join Microsoft Teams meetings. 1 - Microsoft Teams is the preferred app on the Surface Hub's Start Screen, however you can still join Skype for Business meetings. 2 - Microsoft Teams is the exclusive app on the Surface Hub's Start screen and Skype for Business is disabled ./Vendor/MSFT/SurfaceHub/Properties/VtcAppPackageId Set to string. Value must beMicrosoft.MicrosoftTeamsforSurfaceHub_8wekyb3d8bbwe!Team yoabarhas made an excellent blog post showing all the steps here. I thoroughly recommend reading through this before deploying Teams. If anyone gives this a go, let us know below how you get on! For those who may not have seen, there is a new version of Microsoft Whiteboard currently available in preview. It was released a couple of days ago into the Microsoft Store. It's available for Surface Hub, but more importantly, also Windows 10 devices! We've been testing it for a couple of days and, suffice to say, it's FREAKING AWESOME! Our favourite things so far: Co-authoring between any device Whiteboard collections in one place, so no need to save different boards to OneDrive Nice new gestures when using pen actions, like the eraser dynamically resizing depending on how fast you erase Gridlines while resizing Sticky notes and stacks are pretty cool Did I mention co-authoring between any device? You do need an Office 365 account to use it, and you'll need to turn it on in your tenant (from the Admin settings) to use it. But **bleep**... this is so so good! Our users are actually excited about getting their hands on this... never quite seen hype for a work product before, but it's there this time!SolvedDaniel HudsonDec 08, 2017Steel Contributor13KViews4likes35CommentsSurface Hub Creators Edition - error retrieving scheduled meetings
I just installed Creators Edition. When I sign in with my credentials I'm getting a message "There was an error retrieving your scheduled meetings.". I can see my recent files, and the Surface Hub is able to get the resource calendar meetings. Is anyone else seeing this issue?David PhillipsJun 06, 2017Steel Contributor9.4KViews1like34CommentsWhiteboard App Ink Beautification
I can't find the ink beautification button for the Whiteboard App on Windows 10, I am not using the app on a surface device, so it may not be in the right section, but I'm hoping somebody can tell me why it's not working or how to get it working.Jason2220Nov 20, 2019Copper Contributor35KViews3likes33CommentsSurface Hub 2 - Problem with Microsoft Teams
Hi We have been the surface hub 2 with Microsoft Teams for 2 months and it can't load the MS Teams suddenly in the afternoon. Thought there is files corruption after using it a day ago. Therefore, had done the factory reset and still unable to resolves the issues. Unable to find much resources online pertaining to this problem. The MS teams screen just show as blank black screen (sames for after click join the meeting, or launched the apps manually). By the way we are using local AD and sync with Azure AD. Any suggestion on how to resolve this as we are going to used in Tuesday. Hello, All our Surface Hubs have stopped communicating with the Log Analytics workspace and we don't find why. We have Surface Hubs, Surface Hubs 2S, same problem. All are configured through Intune, It has worked for months but suddenly in november (I know it is already a long time ago), the same day, all the SH stopped sending data to the workspace. We have a graphic showing this : Since then we can't find the reason for this. No configuration change have been done. I have installed a machine, a simple windows 10, installed the monitoring agent and configured it with this workspace and it works ! Whatever 'regular' windows 10 I try to connect to the workspace it works but none of the Surface Hub. We have tried to connect a Surface Hub with a 4G connection, just to see if it could be a problem with our network but it doesn't work either. In intune I can see that the SH are well communicating, I can reboot them, sync them etc... The big problem is that with the covid situation we are all working remotely and with a Surface Hub, you can't do anything remotely (you cannot access the logs, take a remote control session...). The devices are a nightmare to manage remotely. Anyone have an idea what I can do or where I can look to find a solution ? Hi everyone, I need to know if everyone is having the same behavior than us when opening Office documents. We are using the Surface Hub for meetings and we need to access some documents. We do not have Windows 10 available for now and some of our management team do not want to use cables to connect their computer to the Surface Hub as we are piloting them for a wireless use. we have deployed the OneDrive app with the goal of having people using the OneDrive as a repository for their documents. What happen is that the user presenting need to authenticate itself on the OneDrive app (email only), then I hit my ADFS and authenticate again (email and password) then, when opening a document in Word, I have to authenticate again (email only) then I hit my ADFS again (email and password). Now I open a document in Excel, I have to authenticate (email only), then I hit my ADFS (email and password). Then the same thing with Powerpoint. Is it a normal behavior? Is it something we can change? Is there any planning to provide a way to enter credential once? I am aware of the diffcultie to manage different users interacting with the hub at once, and I am selling that idea but I have to ask anyway to provide answers to my boss :) Thank you all!Mathieu DesjardinsJan 13, 2017Copper Contributor4.1KViews1like25CommentsSurface Hub Infinite Loop
As of this morning all of our Surface Hubs that were on Fast Ring are entering an infinite loop starting with "Getting ready for the next session" which happens for about 30 seconds and then it reboots. Since we can't get into Start or Settings how can we roll back these updates?JustinJacksonDec 10, 2018Copper Contributor15KViews0likes25CommentsWhiteboard App not starting on Surface Hub
Today (30.07.) we noticed that the Whiteboard App on our Surface Hubs stopped working. When the app is launched a window is displayed that login is in progress, but nothing happens. Anybody experiencing something similar or any suggestion on troubleshooting? I've already reinstalled the app.SolvedKirilJul 30, 2020Steel Contributor11KViews0likes24Comments
