Whiteboard app - storage and sharing
What is up with the Whiteboard app, why is it not storing the whiteboards in OneDrive or SharePoint so it is automatically stored in the region where the whole Office 365 tenant is hosted and can leverage the same access controls? Also having anonymous access to Whiteboards only is a big security gap if you ask me. I would like to share whiteboards with my colleagues only, not with the whole world...SolvedJoostKoopmans1May 24, 2018Iron Contributor60KViews0likes20CommentsSurface Hub 2 - Problem with Microsoft Teams
Hi We have been the surface hub 2 with Microsoft Teams for 2 months and it can't load the MS Teams suddenly in the afternoon. Thought there is files corruption after using it a day ago. Therefore, had done the factory reset and still unable to resolves the issues. Unable to find much resources online pertaining to this problem. The MS teams screen just show as blank black screen (sames for after click join the meeting, or launched the apps manually). By the way we are using local AD and sync with Azure AD. Any suggestion on how to resolve this as we are going to used in Tuesday. Thanks.Tee Meng Jonathan KohJan 11, 2020Copper Contributor42KViews3likes31CommentsWhiteboard App Ink Beautification
I can't find the ink beautification button for the Whiteboard App on Windows 10, I am not using the app on a surface device, so it may not be in the right section, but I'm hoping somebody can tell me why it's not working or how to get it working.Jason2220Nov 20, 2019Copper Contributor36KViews3likes33Commentsjoining a web based Zoom meeting from Surface Hub
Has anyone attempted to join a web based Zoom meeting from Edge on Surface Hub? I know the plugin doesn't work, I'm referring specifically to joining with the browser only version. I can get to the page, but the audio connection times out. I'm wondering if it's a network issue on my end or if it just doesn't work.David PhillipsJan 11, 2019Iron Contributor34KViews0likes13CommentsSurface Hub External Mic
We have had Surface Hubs since they were first on the market and love them! We have been pushing back on requests to put any external mics or cameras on them, for multiple reasons, but we still have some people who insist on it. Has anyone had good succss putting any external mics (ex: Biamp) on their Surface Hub and having it work (We had a mute sync issue with a Biamp we origionally put on a demo unit) as well as improve the audio quality? Going through the steps provided to migrate Surface Hub 2s to Windows 10 Pro at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-hub/surface-hub-2s-migrate-os#prepare-the-semm-certificate Getting hung up with Surface UEFI Configurator doing absolutely nothing after clicking BUILD. USB drive selected is not formatted as the tool says, and no DFI files are created on the USB stick either. Rebooted, tried many times with the same result - nothing happens. No DFI files found on the entire system either. I've had no problems using the SurfaceDeploymentAccelerator - https://github.com/microsoft/SurfaceDeploymentAccelerator/blob/master/README.md to create images, but assuming I NEED to have the UEFI & SEMM stuff figured out in order to use the Windows 10 Pro image created with SDA. Any help?ADoranMay 20, 2021Copper Contributor24KViews0likes5CommentsZoom.us on the Surface Hub
What are you guys doing to use Zoom on the Surface Hub? Joining from the browser works after installing the new Edge but: sharing the surface hub screen is not available on the browser app every time Edge asks permission to use the camera every time you need to wait for it to fail launching the desktop app until the "Join from the browser" link appears And how do you communicate the join link to the surface hub users? For ad-hoc meetings, the fastest way one of our users figured out to launch a zoom meeting is to create a meeting on his computer, copy the join link, create a https://www.mural.co/ from his computer, paste the join link in the mural, open the mural on the surface hub, and tap on the link to open Edge. This is insane Using the Skype for Business - Zoom integration (https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/208219346-Skype-for-Business-Lync-Integration) has other downsides: screen sharing takes 30 seconds to start, and sharing the surface hub screen doesn't work well (it doesn't update most of the times) the surface hub user needs to type the 11 digits meeting ID followed by @lync.zoom.us and then the 6 digits zoom passwordhiclaJun 17, 2021Copper Contributor21KViews0likes1CommentResetting Surface Hub 2S
We have lost the local admin password for our Hub 2S. The best solution seems to be resetting from a USB stick, but the Hub won't open from it. I press and hold the 'volume down' button (as https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-hub/surface-hub-2s-recover-reset), but the device doesn't seem to notice and boots as normal. Except that it reports two 'PXE' errors along the way. But we don't use PXE. Any ideas how to get it to notice that I'm pressing the volume key? Or how to reset the admin password another way? Many thanks.ppn44May 07, 2020Copper Contributor18KViews0likes3CommentsMicrosoft Teams support now available for Surface Hub
According to the Surface Hub Update History, the August 2018 cumulative update brings support for Microsoft Teams meetings on Surface Hub. I should note that I haven't yet tried this on a release build, so I don't know yet if the instructions for the Insider Preview build are the same, or if this even works fully (as there are no instructions yet in the admin guide). For those wanting to try, you will need to install the Microsoft Teams for Surface Hub (Preview) app from the Microsoft Store, and you'll also need to configure 2 SurfaceHub CSP settings (either via MDM or provisioning package): ./Vendor/MSFT/SurfaceHub/Properties/SurfaceHubMeetingMode Set to integer, values below: 0 - Skype for Business is the preferred app on the Surface Hub's Start Screen, however you can still join Microsoft Teams meetings. 1 - Microsoft Teams is the preferred app on the Surface Hub's Start Screen, however you can still join Skype for Business meetings. 2 - Microsoft Teams is the exclusive app on the Surface Hub's Start screen and Skype for Business is disabled ./Vendor/MSFT/SurfaceHub/Properties/VtcAppPackageId Set to string. Value must be Microsoft.MicrosoftTeamsforSurfaceHub_8wekyb3d8bbwe!Team yoabar has made an excellent blog post showing all the steps here. I thoroughly recommend reading through this before deploying Teams. If anyone gives this a go, let us know below how you get on!
