Lack of functionalities for the new To Do app
Hi, Why the new To Do app does not have some key functionalities that the old version had, like 1) being able to create new Views 2) being able to select multiple tasks and move them in one go to another date 3) see flagged e-mails and tasks in one list 4) add columns ... Difficult to understand that Microsoft develops a new app that is worse that the old one.DaveFizFeb 09, 2025Occasional Reader8Views0likes0CommentsFlagged Email: "Remind Me" Time Does Not Sync with Outlook "Reminder" Time
If I flag an email in outlook, and add a due date and a reminder time, the due date shows up correctly in To Do but the Remind Me time does not appear or sync with the Reminder time set in outlook (the Remind Me time is blank in To Do). As most of my task management is done with flagged emails, this renders To Do useless. I do not believe this is a bug in my software, but a lack of syncing features by Microsoft that is such a huge oversight I cannot understand how this has not been fixed or addressed by other prior issues logs. For instance, if you flag an email with a due date of June 30 and also set a reminder time for 9am on June 30 in Outlook, To Do will show the flagged email as due on June 30 but it won't include a Remind Me time. Therefore, if one is away from their PC and using To Do "notification pop ups" as a way to stay on task, you will NOT receive a reminder at 9am to start your task. If you create a stand alone task (not a flagged email) it will sync correctly; but again, 90% of my task management is done with flagged emails and therefore the lack of syncing between Outlook and To Do renders To Do useless as a task management tool. I had a work around in the past (the TaskTask app on iOS) but the app is no longer allowed by our IT department. Please advise if anyone else has this issue or if there is a fix I am not seeing or understanding.Mfra000Feb 07, 2025Copper Contributor766Views1like2CommentsSteps should show up on a TO DO list!
I love the functionality of using "steps" within a task in "TO DO." However, when observing my tasks on my task list, I think it would be helpful to be able to see the steps underneath the task. The step list wouldn't need to be as pronounced as individual tasks. They could show up small... like the "1 of 3" steps completed notation shows up under the task... But being able to see the steps from the task list would be FANTASTIC.... Not to get picky, but it would be cool to be able to toggle the steps view on and off for a given task. (So maybe it shows up as a status (1 of 3 steps completed) but you could hit a drop down arrow that lets you see the list. Being able to check them off from that view would also be preferable. One last thought. Steps wouldn't necessarily have to disappear from the view (underneath the task) when they are completed... It would actually be helpful for them to remain listed (just like they do when you "expand a task" in case you complete steps in a different order. What I'm asking for is already present. The list of steps is visible when you click on a task. I just think it would be helpful if those steps could be visible ON the task list.jbrown2130Feb 06, 2025Copper Contributor941Views6likes3CommentsFeature request: Add to My Day (Tomorrow)
I love the Add to My Day feature. I love that it disappears when the day is done. It's fantastic. But it only works for that day. I believe there is evidence that setting up a daily list the night before is more effective for productivity. I would like to request a feature for Microsoft To Do: Add to My Day (Tomorrow). This would be just like Add to My Day, except that the item would appear as already added to my day when tomorrow arrives. That's it. This is different from setting a due date of tomorrow. It's just putting it on tomorrow's My Day list. It may or not be due, but it's on the list.gtuckerkelloggFeb 05, 2025Iron Contributor37KViews165likes73CommentsFeature request: Ability to archive lists
I've been using MS Todo for some time now and I enjoy it. kudos to the team for building such a simple yet effective tool. As you keep using the app for a long time the number of lists keeps growing, deleting unwanted lists is an option but if you need to go back to a few of these lists in the future then we are out of options. I think the app could be more awesome if it could archive lists. I think there are other users out there who are looking for something similar. I hope the team will consider this feature request.SanusomanFeb 05, 2025Copper Contributor620Views2likes1CommentAutomatically "skip to current task" (as a recurrence property)
TL;DR Recurring tasks should have a property where user can ask to automatically "skip to current task" instead of doing it manually, and it should be the default behavior. Explaination I have a few recurring tasks on my to-do list, such as: Check for errors in my application DB every morning. Take medicine daily. Review Jira tasks every 3 weeks. It's evident that if I miss checking errors over the weekend or forget to take my daily medicine, I won't perform these tasks multiple times on the same day. Similarly, if I miss the 3-week mark for reviewing Jira tasks, I won't do it twice in one day. Today, and on several occasions before, I opened the "My Day" list only to find it empty. This didn't make sense because I knew I needed to take my medicine. I went to the "Suggestions" pane and manually clicked "Skip to current task" for each recurring task. It was then that I noticed the task of "checking DB" was also missing from the "My Day" list, and I skipped it as well. There are two issues here: Why do I have to notice that something is missing from my day? Isn't that what the app is for? Why should I remember which tasks require me to press the skip button and which ones don't? My suggestion is that any recurring task should have a property allowing the user to choose whether missing an occurrence should be automatically skipped or not. Moreover, I cannot think of any example where I wouldn't want it to skip automatically (but I assume there are some), so my suggestion is that, by default, this option should be checked.amitkadFeb 04, 2025Copper Contributor1.2KViews6likes4CommentsTo Do Duplicating Tasks
Very often when i'm creating tasks on To Do it ends up creating two identical tasks, which can get frustrating! Also, when i mark a task as complete, they can end up showing up again as incomplete next time I open Microsoft To Do. Any suggestions??EddieNisbetFeb 03, 2025Copper Contributor3.6KViews6likes11CommentsSub list
Microsoft To Do is my most favorite app. To stay organized, I everyday use this app and I love it. I have a feature request to the developers. Please Improve Sub list option. Under a list, we can create a sub list. But we can not make another sub list under this list. I think it would be better if it works like comments replay. if someone tap and hold one list and move it to another list. This moved list Will be the sub list.Milon1625Feb 01, 2025Copper Contributor2KViews1like1CommentComo sincronizar no To Do os eventos do Outlook?
Olá, já busquei várias vezes por uma solução que faça a sincronia de eventos criados no calendário do Outlook para serem espelhados no TO DO, porém não obtive sucesso, como posso fazer para ter esta integração?TeobaldowilleJan 26, 2025Copper Contributor6Views0likes0CommentsGroup by Category disappeared
I have been flagging emails in Outlook and adding a Category with the name of someone who is responsible to deal with the content of that email. This gets automatically added to To Do and when I move it from my flagged email list to a proper list, I have been able to group all of these email tasks by Category. It's been working great and my team can see their own tasks easily by grouping by Category. For some reason, this option disappeared yesterday and I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know how I can get the Group By Categories option back or where else I should look for it?dennis2270Jan 25, 2025Brass Contributor23KViews12likes41Comments
