Migrating from Skype Numbers to Team (Headache)
Due to the discontinuation of Skype, I had 2 landline numbers I wanted to move over to Teams as I didnt want to lose them. The process has been anything but straight forward and such a headache. As a bit of background, I had the Skype numbers due to my location having poor mobile signal, hence any incoming calls would divert to my Skype numbers and then I could pick them up via my desktop. When purchasing the Skype numbers I did so for a year, and used the PAYGO credit (rarely) which has now obviously been discontinued). I rarely need to make outbound domestic calls, i never need to make international calls, the aim was literally just to have inbound calls. My understanding was: I would need to port the numbers (which I've successfully managed to do) from Skype to Microsoft Teams I would need Microsoft Teams Essentials and Microsoft Teams Phone Standard - having talked to presale and post sales support they said that this would allow incoming calls but that a call plan would be needed for outbound calls When the numbers were ported in, i've then been told that you can't actually assign the numbers to a Teams account unless you have a call plan - I was mislead by support teams highlighting this was possible. I've then been told that I don't actually need to upgrade from Teams Phone Standard, I only need a calling plan. I thought the options would be upgrading Teams Phone Standard to Teams Phone with pay-as-you-go calling (country zone 1) or Teams Phone with domestic calling (country zone 1 - UK/Canada) however I've then been told that I don't actually need upgrade from Teams Phone Standard, I only need a calling plan. On querying further i've had zero response and I've been unable to find any calling plans that don't involve upgrading Teams Phone Standard. Can someone make sense of all of this? What is the cheapest option to having inbound calls to the landline numbers coming through to my Teams account? The amount of business that Microsoft must be losing as a result of no straight forward, easy way to move over the Microsoft Teams with an existing number from Skype is mindboggingly. I'm guessing they don't want to make it easy simply because its not profitable, and its Teams Business at scale where the money is!sabian1982May 21, 2025Copper Contributor196Views0likes1CommentSkype Transferred All Account Info To WRONG Teams Account!
I have a Skype account. It uses the email address MyEmail.at.myISP, which is also the email address of my Microsoft account. All my contacts know my "MyEmail.at.myISP" email address. When Skype offered to let me port over my Skype account, contacts, chats, and calls to Microsoft Teams, I let it do it. Skype automatically transitioned all the information to a completely separate email address which has no Microsoft account, MyOtherEmail.at.gmail. It created a Microsoft account under that email address. That new MS account contains none of my information... it shows no subscriptions (to MS Office365) or payment info. Not even my name exists there. In other words, Skype totally ignored my Microsoft account information and transitioned everything to a random one of my other email accounts! How do I: Transition all the Skype info to my proper Teams account (MyEmail.at.myISP)? Delete the MS Teams account and all the information now stored there from MyOtherEmail.at.gmail? Thanks in advance for any help.JulianF1345Apr 14, 2025Copper Contributor146Views0likes0CommentsIssue: "Something went wrong. Please try again." Error on Submit/Approve Button in Adaptive Card fo
I'm encountering an issue with my Microsoft Teams bot where the adaptive card displays the error message "Something went wrong. Please try again." whenever I click the Submit or Approve button. Despite this error, the bot successfully receives a response from the backend. Details: Scenario: The issue occurs when attempting to submit a form or approve an item from a table using an Adaptive Card within a Teams bot. Backend Response: The backend does return a response, but the adaptive card still throws the error. Adaptive Card JSON: Below is the JSON code for the Adaptive Card used for form submission: { "$schema": "http://adaptivecards.io/schemas/adaptive-card.json", "version": "1.4", "type": "AdaptiveCard", "body": [ { "type": "TextBlock", "text": "Please fill out the form below:" }, { "type": "Container", "id": "createLeaveContainer", "items": [ { "type": "Container", "id": "request", "items": [ { "type": "Input.ChoiceSet", "id": "leaveType", "style": "compact", "choices": [ { "title": "Vacation outside KSA", "value": "VOUT" }, { "title": "Exit Re-entry Request Hol", "value": "EXRL" }, { "title": "Vacation Inside KSA", "value": "VIN" } ], "placeholder": "Select leave type"}, { "type": "Input.Date", "id": "startDate", "placeholder": "Select Start date" }, { "type": "Input.Date", "id": "endDate", "placeholder": "Select End date" } ] } ] } ], "actions": [ { "type": "Action.Submit", "title": "Submit", "data": { "action": "createLeave" } } ]amirhassanSep 04, 2024Copper Contributor232Views0likes0Comments- doseni3032Aug 12, 2024Copper Contributor181Views0likes0Comments
On-Premises users to Online users
Good Morning, So bit of backstory, our company has bought two other small companies. These two smaller companies are all cloud based, which includes Teams. We were an on-prem company until three tears ago. We migrated all our mailboxes to O365, connected users to Azure AD etc and all seemed fine. Now most of our users can't communicate with the other companies via Teams. We did a quick search and most of our users are on-prem and those that joined after the mailbox migration are Teams only. I've done some reading and it seems that we need to make some changes in our Skype for Business servers, which was decommed and we have no way to get it back. Is there something we can do to get all our users their directory status to online? Thank you, David TLDR; our company has bought other companies and having issues communicating via Teams as our users are on-premises and we no longer have the SfB servers.dkernaghanJun 16, 2024Copper Contributor1KViews0likes1CommentAre the DNS records for Skype for Business Online still required when in Teams Only?
Can someone answer if I can delete the old DNS entries? Have been running Teams only mode since March 2020. We have a few users with the PSTN from Microsoft as Add-On. One license is for Polycom Trio (voice only) running the Teams Client app in a Conference Room. We use a lot of the Microsoft Conferencing Add-on as well. I cannot determine from the MS docs if we still need the old DNS entries from running Skype for Business Online. We never had On-Prem. Can I delete these that MS is still listing in the Org Setup wizard of the Office Admin Portal Skype for Business CNAME sip sipdir.online.lync.com CNAME lyncdiscover webdir.online.lync.com SRV _sip sipdir.online.lync.com SRV _sipfederationtls sipfed.online.lync.comSolvedForrest_HJun 05, 2024Iron Contributor37KViews0likes6CommentsNew thems
In the 1960s, a creative performance researcher named George Land conducted a study of 1,600 five-year-olds and 98 percent of the children scored in the “highly creative” range. Dr. Land re-tested each subject during five year increments. When the same children were 10-years-old, only 30 percent scored in the highly creative range. This number dropped to 12 percent by age 15 and just 2 percent by age 25. As the children grew into adults they effectively had the creativity trained out of them. In the words of Dr. Land, “non-creative behavior is learned.”Helmuerewr2343242120Apr 09, 2024Copper Contributor402Views0likes0CommentsSub App
