Skype for Business
21 TopicsIsland users can't communicate with externals using Skype client
I have a customer who is on S4B on prem (all users homed on prem) and some users also have the Teams client (by default in this scenario users are in Island). Those users with Teams can initiate a Skype chat with external users (federation) but the recipients (in TeamsOnly) cannot reply to that conversation. Instead they get this message and by clicking the link it takes them to a new native Teams chat where they can write to the user in Island The user in Island receives the message in the Teams client (which shouldn't happen) but they cannot reply in that chat. they the get message "Due to org policy changes, this chat is no longer available. Continue with Skype for Business" I have read a few sources in MS docs where it says that users in Island mode communicating with external (federation) should receive all messages in S4B client. Routing for federated chats and calls differs from in-tenant routing in that Islands users will always receive a federated communication in Skype for Business. This is because the federated partner may not yet be using Teams. Routing to Skype for Business for any islands mode recipient ensures messages will always be received. Routing to Teams could potentially result in missed communication if the intended recipient does not use Teams. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/coexistence-chat-calls-presence#federated-routing-for-new-chats-or-callsSolvedExternal chat disabled after s4b onpremise to teams migration

Hi, So weve created a few Teams Auto Attendants and Call Queues now. I created a new one and i just cannot get Teams to pull the phone number from the hybrid application endpoint. hybrid application endpoint is created on sfb-onprem (no errors when assigning the LineURI) resource account appears in Teams admin Virtual phone system licence is added to the resource account several sync cycles later the number is empty and using 'Assign' doesnt give me the option to select it either I thought i had it as there were some users assigned the same head number with a unique extension portion. I cleared those and nothing. I even created a new resource account and its the same. Any ideas? What it takes to setup Microsoft Teams Rooms over existing CISCO Rooms setup?
Helo, Can you please share, how to use Microsoft Teams rooms over existing CISCO setup in rooms? Is it possible? If yes, what it takes to setup? Does it require extra device? config setup ? does it has to be replaced existing CISCO setup with Microsoft Teams certified devices? Can you please clarify? Thanks,S4B on-premises to Teams
Yes sorry another question about upgrading S4B to Teams 🙂 I know there is a lot of content on docs.technet and blog post about upgrading but I have a question I could not find. Is it possible to do a cutover Teams migration without creating a hybrid S4B environment? I know that in a cutover migration contact data and meetings data will not be migrated but if the organization accepts this can we not just flip the switch? With this I mean is it supported/possible/does it work if we; - do not create hybrid S4B - set Teams mode to Teams Only - decomission S4B on-premises Or is a hybrid S4B always a requirement? reference cutover https://www.cloudpartner.fi/?p=570Teams User Keeps Getting "Continue Your Conversation Here" Link in Existing Conversations
Hi, This user has been using teams for months, this issue arose on Tuesday. All was working fine before. Now any time they have a conversation with an external user who is still using skype (their org is still transitioning to teams) they get a message at the bottom of their conversation that says "Due to Org Policy Changes, some chat and calling features are no longer available. Continue your conversation here" When they click that link it opens another chat window entirely like they're having their first conversation ever. This happens with any user who is external, and it used to work perfectly in the past. This problem replicates to the web app version of teams as well. We already re-installed teams standalone app to the desktop and that did not rectify the issue. The user is using a teams exploratory license as well and I removed it and that didnt fix the issue either. I attached photos of the error message and how you can see the same person's conversation pops up in another chat window entirely. Please advise.Decommissioning the on-premise Lync server
