Feature request: Add to My Day (Tomorrow)
I love the Add to My Day feature. I love that it disappears when the day is done. It's fantastic. But it only works for that day. I believe there is evidence that setting up a daily list the night before is more effective for productivity. I would like to request a feature for Microsoft To Do: Add to My Day (Tomorrow). This would be just like Add to My Day, except that the item would appear as already added to my day when tomorrow arrives. That's it. This is different from setting a due date of tomorrow. It's just putting it on tomorrow's My Day list. It may or not bedue, but it's on the list.36KViews162likes70CommentsFeature request: location based reminders
One of of Google keep notes that I used the most when using that app was location reminders. Since coming over to ToDo full time for tasks, I have missed it to the point of using location reminders on a different app when I need them. Please add location reminders.14KViews41likes24CommentsFeature Request - Due Dates for Sub-tasks in Microsoft TO DO
It would be really great if there were a way to have due dates for sub-tasks placed in Microsoft To Do. Right now, that is the thing keeping me with Asana. This is also what has prevented me from using the Microsoft Planner. I find that I have one main task, but frequently have multiple sub-tasks to accomplish the one task. (Welcome to the wonderful world of HR management!) It is often impractical to create a brand new list for each task, so the ability to have due dates for sub tasks would be a great addition. Thanks!8.3KViews34likes16CommentsSort by Date Completed
Please add "Sort by Date Completed" to the To-Do sort options! To-Do allows sorting by: Importance Due Date Added to My Date Alphabetically Creation Date But none of those are any help when trying to find a task I have accidentally checked off! If "Sort by Date Completed" was an option, my most recently completed tasks would be right at the top (or bottom) of the list!5.1KViews31likes5CommentsCreate a 'My week' just like 'My day'
There is an other request (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-to-do/feature-request-add-to-my-day-tomorrow/m-p/1930251) to create 'My Tomorrow' section, but for me it would be more useful to create a plan for the week and generate the 'My day' content from there. The 'My week' would include elements that I want complete or focus during the workweek. 'My week' could be the name, but it is more like a container that can gather elements from multiple lists to show what is my current focus for a longer period than 1 day.8KViews22likes3CommentsSort completed tasks by date completed
How can I sort completed tasks by the day they were completed? I want to see a day of all my completed tasks. Right now they are placed at the end of the list. So I have to scroll through 3,000 completed tasks in order to see my most recent. Is there a way to see all your tasks completed from the last 7 days or today?4.4KViews18likes3CommentsPlease add Toggle List for Loop
I'm very surprised that Loop has yet to integrate one of the most useful features that Notion has. The toggle list is absolutely basic. It lets you save nested information. Each page can have a lot more information. Why is this not integrated into Loop. Probably one of the main reasons my company hasn't adopted Loop yet. PLEASE add it.3.6KViews16likes10CommentsFeature Request: Add Start Date field
Using To Do to work with Outlook tasks is a HUGE problem because To Do has bafflingly omitted the Start Date field. Outlook has Start Dates. Todoist does. Microsoft's Planner does. In fact, every task management system I've ever seen has them. But not To Do, and that's despite the fact that it directly syncs with a program (Outlook tasks) that does. So, Microsoft sees the value of start dates in all of its other task management software, but the To Do team thinks it knows better? So who made this decision to hamstring To Do by leaving out this field?4.3KViews15likes4CommentsRequest to support Getting Things Done (GTD) workflow
Hello Microsoft To-Do team, As you are considering prioritizing your backlog, I’d like you to consider first-class support for a GTD (Getting Things Done) workflow. I’ve managed to implement this in Outlook Tasks on the desktop and have been using this scheme for several years, but there is no support for my setup in the iOS app. I’m explicitly NOT asking for support compatible with the way I have things setup now, just that the use case be supported. Here’s how I get a GTD flow to work in Outlook 365 with Exchange: Category name are prefixed with a special character. Tasks that I choose to do next are prefixed with ‘#’ for their location, such as #computer, #desk, #errand, #home, #phone, #talk. Other GTD lists for status are prefixed with ‘*’, such as *waiting, *blocked, *backlog, *someday, *tickler. All projects are prefixed with ‘+’, such as +career-management, +project-omega, etc. Each category also has a color, based on the prefix. Each #now type task is colored red, each *status-list is colored blue, each +project is colored green. All tasks have a +project category and either a #next or a *status-list category. I create different views on the tasks with the help of DASL filters. I have views for tasks with a due date, ticklers, waiting-fors, blocked, next, backlog, someday, and projects. I also have views to detect errors assigning categories, to ensure each task follows the scheme. In the morning I review each view. When my #next task list is empty, I pull from the *backlog. Every few months I review the *someday list. I can’t quite use Microsoft To-Do to implement GTD. I could organize tasks by project by putting them in To-Do Lists, but there’s no way for me to then mark which ones to do next or keep in the backlog or am blocked on, etc. If To-Do tasks supported tags or categories and a way to search by tag, I’d be all set. I keep my personal task list in Evernote, and utilize their tag feature in this way to implement GTD. As a plus, Evernote supports putting the tags in a hierarchy, so I can put organize all # tasks under #next, and all * tags under *status. But using tags or categories is just an implementation detail. In the end, I just want to implement GTD in a way that I can sync across devices, and integrates nicely with the rest of the Microsoft ecosystem. I'm a heavy user of To Do, and despite using it every day for several months, I just found the Overdue list under Planned. This is a really important list for me, but burying it here make it much less accessible and valuable. I'd like to recommend two possible approaches to make overdue tasks more visible: Add an "Overdue" smart list to the sidebar, at the same level as Important, Assigned to Me, etc. Have an option to show overdue tasks in My Day similar to the current option for Due Today tasks.4.8KViews14likes3CommentsTags and categories in To Do
This is driving me crazy, as these things can do.... 1. Categories: MS To Do help pages say you can add categories - I cannot see how to do this in To Do for either Windows or Mac. I then try it in online To Do, and there is clearly an option to add categories!! Is it the case that you can only add categories in the web-based app?? And if so, why does Help not tell you this (rather than making me waste half an hour....) 2. Tags: is there any way of getting a LIST of tags?? All I can see is that you can type # in the search box and it throws up an unreadable display of all tasks that have a # in them, and you then have to search through to see what tags you used. This is of course nuts as you enter tags free form into a task, without a list of previously used tasks - so I now have unsearchable variations - #work, #works, #workday, etc. Help!16KViews14likes5CommentsTo do app "My day"
When will it possible to choose whether I want to plan the following day (My day) the day before or on the morning? One of the time management rules I teach in my courses is to plan the next day at the end of the current work day in order to know what to come back to the next day.1.7KViews12likes4Comments
