MS Edge 142.0.3595.65 does not start with anything else but msedge.exe
This is to be considered a critical bug with Microsoft Edge Version 142.0.3595.65, a change in behavior not seen in the prior Version 142.0.3595.53. External integrations with Microsoft Edge browser are broken since Microsoft Edge Version 142.0.3595.65. This latest version is more strict to the actual command on how it gets launched. 1. Open a Command Prompt 2. C:\Users\myuser> PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application;%PATH% 3. C:\Users\myuser> msedge -> MS Edge does *NOT* launched 4. C:\Users\myuser> msedge.exe -> MS Edge DOES launch Others have observed the same with this latest version of Microsoft Edge: https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/1or1h9k/msedgeexe_will_not_start_unless_entire_executable/ The command to launch Microsoft Edge MUST be msedge.exe. It cannot be just 'msedge' as it terminates with Exit Status: 13. This causes significant impact to business critical applications that make use of Microsoft Edge.860Views1like2CommentsCustom DNS for Edge mobile
Hi Please visit the link below in Microsoft feedback portal and vote for the option to add custom DNS for Edge mobile. It's a must for every browser. It's very strange why Edge mobile do not have this option yet. https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/6ee7ee95-57be-f011-aa44-7c1e5298a4a17Views0likes0CommentsDesktop slideshow doesn't work with multiple virtual desktops

I'm experiencing a critical sync issue with Microsoft Edge on iOS where my primary M365 account will not remain signed in for sync. The Problem: When I attempt to sync settings, my most important M365 account does not appear in the list of available accounts I can manually "add another account" and successfully authenticate The account briefly appears in the sync settings Within a few minutes, it silently disappears and Edge reverts to a default profile No error messages are shown - it just vanishes What Makes This Unusual: The SAME account works perfectly in Edge on my iPad (same iOS version 18.0.1) The account works fine in other Microsoft apps on the iPhone (Outlook, OneDrive) I am the M365 administrator for this account - there are no restrictions, conditional access policies, or authentication blocks The account does NOT appear in Azure AD sign-in logs when this happens, suggesting it's using iOS authentication broker Troubleshooting Already Attempted: Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Edge multiple times Cleared all browsing data, cookies, and cache Signed out of Apple ID and back in (to reset iOS keychain) Removed iPhone device registration from Azure AD and re-registered Re-authenticated through OneDrive using Passkey (temporarily worked, then reverted) Cleared Safari website data for all Microsoft domains Reset network settings Signed out of all Microsoft apps and signed back in Restarted iPhone multiple times Device Information: iPhone model: iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS version: 26.0.1 Edge version: 142.0.3595.53 iPad (where it WORKS): iOS 26.0.1, same Edge version Expected Behavior: The M365 account should remain signed in for sync, just as it does on my iPad. Actual Behavior: Account drops after a few minutes with no error message, reverting to default profile. This appears to be a device-specific authentication broker issue between Edge and iOS on this particular iPhone. Please investigate why Edge cannot maintain the authentication session on this device when the same account works on my iPad.25Views1like1CommentSuggestions For Edge From My Experience (Microsoft, Please Listen 🤞
What's up, Microsoft Community! 👋 I literally don't remember how long ago it was when I posted asking on how to join the Edge Insider Program, but things have changed for me a little since then, & but my love for tech, & innovation remains, as it always will. So, without further ado, let's jump right into this post, since I have some suggested upgrades & changes I would like to see be made for the pc version of Edge, based on my experience with it in the last several years... And also, the post itself will be divided into 2 categories: Privacy, & Improvements. Instead of typing out the longest novel in recorded history about my relationship with Edge, I will simply sum it up: It's a great browser, & it most certainly rivals Chrome in a number of ways, & despite some of its current flaws, I do enjoy using it. But, there are some things I would like to see changed, which I will lay out for y'all. 👇 PRIVACY: Compared to the likes of Google Chrome, even though Microsoft still does collect a certain amount of data, in order to provide the Microsoft-based services to it's users, I personally tend to consider the privacy situation to be slightly better than Chrome, just not as invasive. Especially, given that there are literally settings you can actually toggle on or off in order to enhance your privacy. And I could have laid out some of the privacy enhancements I would like to see improved within, in a great amount of detail, but I'm not always the best at coming up with the right words to say at the right times. 🙄🤦♂️😂 So, I instead got the opinion of an AI chatbot I use more often, in order to brainstorm ideas for improving Edge's privacy. And you can see my full chat interaction in this recording, courtesy of this publicly accessible Google Drive link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HtPXsMtOv8l3GyiNMS1Wg_pnWdXPnN6U/view?usp=sharing (By the way, if any of you tend to agree with these improvements, be sure to like the post, or upvote, if that's even possible. 😉👍) IMPROVEMENTS: 1. In my own personal opinion, having a translator baked right into your browser is WAY better than nothing at all, even if it sucks. But, that leads me to an area where I feel like Microsoft might want to re-think their strategy: The Microsoft Translator is quite frankly, not that good at all compared to Google Translate, or even DeepL Translate- the latter of which I consider to be an "underdog" type of company compared to the bigger players out there, & they pride themselves on their quality translations, even though their list of supported languages is still expanding, as is their business, as we speak. (And I even confirmed this myself by testing the Microsoft Translator out on a few foreign websites I know of, & also by consulting with four different AI chatbots, & they all said that compared to its competition out there, it just isn't cutting the mustard, which is quite embarrassing.) However, I would like to pitch a wild idea to Microsoft: Why not just scrap the built-in translation, for DeepL, while showing them some love & support for their hard work, & commitment? 🤷♂️😏 2. For this part, I decided to combine two of the complaints I have into one, since they BOTH have to do with the appearance within the browser. And I know that this may or may not align with some people out there, but the point I'm highlighting is that this isn't what I prefer. These two complaints I have include: Not having the ability to hide the "Add this page to favorites", AND the "Extensions" buttons from the toolbar, which is right next to the address bar. (And you can see what I mean by viewing the included screenshot.) I do happen to recall that Microsoft used to have the option to hide the extension button itself from the toolbar, but for whatever reason(s), that isn't really a thing as of right now, & I even checked this within the settings, & by making sure that I have the latest browser version, which I do. Still, to say that I'm disappointed would be a gross understatement, to say the least, but I REALLY hope that Microsoft listens to this bit of feedback, & takes the right course of action, here... 🫤🥺🤞🙏 3. By now, I'm sure a good number of you, who happen to be tech-savvy, probably know that Microsoft Edge IS considered to be faster, & more resource efficient compared to Opera, or even Google Chrome, for instance. But, there is 1 browser which I use, & that I genuinely think Microsoft could take some serious inspiration from, & it's Brave. From what I have observed myself, & also going by other data online, there is no doubt about it that Brave is markedly more efficient compared to Edge. And it comes down to how Brave handles privacy within their browser, as a whole, but also from some architectural tweaks to the underlying Chromium code itself that makes Brave, quite frankly, noticeably better than Edge, in this case. (Now, before any of you bother to take up your lighted torches, pitchforks, & prepare to roast me, just hear me out that I'm not actually playing favorites, here. But, I do think there is room for improvement, on this front.) 4. One incredibly useful feature that I absolutely LOVE in modern day web browsers is being able to hover over my tabs, when needed, or in case I ever feel the need to get a quick check while I am multitasking. But, while the functionality within Edge is pretty decent, the accuracy isn't NEARLY as good as compared to what Opera uses, which in my opinion, somehow has the best implementation of this technology, however they pulled this off. (Seriously, folks. I'm not even joshing you, here. Try doing it within with Opera, Opera Air, or even Opera GX, for that matter, & I'm sure you will totally see what I mean.) Now, while I would never in my life, ask for one company to copy another's, or steal a patent, or whatever, this is another area where I think Edge can be improved in, so, I will keep my eyes & ears pealed for future releases down the line, or even if Microsoft DOES end up seeing my post, here. 5. And onto my final complaint- earlier on, I noticed that Edge did have the Secure Network in preview/beta, & while accessing foreign websites, or even watching movies online, it really came in handy for me. But now, it has been removed from the toolbar, & only the toggle for it exists in the settings. So, Microsoft, I hope you guys are working on refining this particular feature, & I hope you plan to bring it back soon. 🤞 Well, with all that being said, I hope this post gets noticed by y'all in the community, & that perhaps, it aligns with what others hope to see in future releases of Edge. If any of you happen to have any questions for me, or need additional details, feel free to drop me a line, or even comment on this post, & I will be happy to get back with you, & fill any of you in. Thanks in advance, everyone! 🙏🙇♂️😊26Views0likes0Comments- 54Views0likes0Comments
Can't see Copilot icon anymore!
Hey everyone. Today, after updating Microsoft Edge in my Windows 11, I can't see Copilot icon on top right of the window anymore (even in Edge Dev and Edge Can). Also, I can't access Bing Chat over sidebar shortcut that I've created. Why?? Actually, the last version of Edge was greatly working and didn't have any problems. I could completely work with Copilot, even in PDF files; but not anymore. Well, what should I do??😑😭 Thanks for your support.25KViews11likes25Comments- 13Views0likes0Comments
Solução: Habilitar o Copilot (Barra Lateral) no Microsoft Edge (.deb) no Zorin OS/Linux
Passo B: Fechar o Navegador no Linux Feche completamente o Microsoft Edge no Linux. - O Copilot (e a barra lateral) deverão aparecer e estar funcionais.11Views0likes0CommentsGhost Profiles Persist in Edge Profile Switcher Despite Cleanup
I've submitted a detailed Feedback Hub report documenting persistent ghost profiles in Edge’s profile switcher. These profiles remain visible despite full local and registry cleanup, and there’s no user-facing way to remove them. The issue affects profile integrity, sync behaviour, and UI clarity. It’s reproducible and has no current resolution. Here’s the link to my Feedback Hub submission: https://aka.ms/AAykvpv If you’ve experienced this issue, please upvote or share your observations. I have been trying to manage the parental controls on my child's account, but I keep running into the same issue. I login, go to the page that lists all of the Family Members profiles, select my child's profile, then I select Manage Parental Controls (I've also tried to get there every other route on the page as well) it starts to load the page, then the url changes and it auto loads back to the screen that shows all of the profiles. I have tried catching the url before it changes and pasting it myself. I have tried my phone, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox (I'll try Windows Monday) with the same issue. I have also tried just deleting his profile and starting over, but it gives me and error that I need permission from the family organizer...but I'm the family organizer and I'm logged into my account. Please help!! This has been so frustrating and I have spent hours over the past few months trying to figure this out. Has anyone else had this issue?298Views0likes1CommentGhost Profiles Persist in Edge Profile Switcher Despite Cleanup

Problem started a few days ago. My cursor now changes whenever to the circle with arrows. Have read multiple forums with suggestions to fix and none work for me. I'm using Windows 11 on a new HP all-in-one desktop. Not sure why this just started happening. I can temporarily go back to the regular cursor by clicking down on the wheel of my mouse, but then it switches back. Very irritating! Can someone please assist?22Views0likes0CommentsIs Edge Copilot susceptible to Prompt Injection Attack?
I am getting lots of negative vibe when reading about OpenAI's Altas browser. But what about Edge browser? Let's say if you have Copilot in Edge turned on with Page Content allowed. You asked the Copilot to summerise the page you are browsing and the page has hidden text to initiate a prompt injection attack. Is it safe to say that as long as Copilot does not have control over your browsing or desktop, the damage is limited. The worst thing it could happen is the change of AI behaviour, meaning the response returned from your question may not be what you asked for. There is zero DLP risk, right?64Views0likes1CommentExtended channel not working for Edge 142
We have been running the extended channel for a long time, and as far as I can tell, everything on our end looks to be configured correctly. But when checking for updates, Edge is saying that we're up-to-date with 140.0.3485.130. Clearly we should be getting updated to 142.0.3595.53. Is anyone else using extended channel experiencing the same issue?46Views0likes2CommentsMS Edge on Android has a bottom address bar glitch
When the address bar is moved to the bottom, there's a strange gap present between the bar itself and the omnibox (I guess that's what it's called). Also, when bottom bar placement is selected, the search suggestions appear in reversed order - best suggestions should be displayed at the end of the list, instead they are shown at the top and the list has to be scrolled through.
